Robert Jackson RIP
« on July 13, 2019, 09:59:57 am by retford rover »
just heard the news Robert Jackson who started the original praise and grumble on Radio Sheffield has passed away. A show which was a must for all South Yorks and Chessie football fans.
..........................................................................
The show was just known original as grumble,  supporting a Sheffield team  in those days, that was understandable.
Our thought s go to all his family and all at Radio Sheffield..
He leaves the legacy , that the show he started is still going strong today

Sad news, I always liked to listen to any radio Sheffield programme with Robert in it, he was brilliant  at his job made me laugh at loud with his dry sense of humour, RIP Robert you'll be sadly missed.

Might be an idea to ask Alan Smith to write an article about what it was like being a radio reporter on Rovers during the Robert Jackson era - youngsters today might find it interesting to hear about how primitive it was
