Title: Predictions for Saturday
Post by: Padge_DRFC on November 06, 2013, 04:35:02 pm
Not feeling optimistic, in a game like this Jones is a big miss. Midfield needs to do a lot better in front of the back 4 without the ball.

2v1 to Barnsley

12k crowd with 2.6k Rovers fans there.

Not feeling as confident as I were a few weeks ago, still optimistic though. Watched Barnsley v Wednesdy's good first half performance but poor second. Hopefully we'll sign a player or two before Saturday.

2-2 brown (2) mellis and Pederson for them 1700 rovers

Plenty paying on the day. However I'd say we currently have the worst away support in South Yorkshire.

Our performance and scoring goals will have to improve to gain a victory at Barnsley.

Barnsley win they are quite handy going forward and we are shipping goals for fun and we can't score more than one goal in a game without a goalscorer coming in.

Wow this is so depressing! I'm going to stick my neck out and try to stay positive - it's 18 months since we lost 3 on the bounce so to lose 4 is unthinkable! Call me unrealistic, deluded or just downright foolish (you could be right!) but I'm going to Oakwell on Saturday expecting goals and an exciting, to and fro game with a 3-2 win for rovers with brownie getting 2 and a header from khumalo! Come on Rovers, we need to stop the rot and make the VSC a little less depressing!

we can't score more than one goal in a game without a goalscorer coming in.

Charlton, Wigan and Blackburn may disagree.

We have scored more than one goal once in the last 10 games and Macheda scored both of them so in general no we can't score more than one goal in a game without a goal scorer coming in.

3-1 to Barnsley unfortunately. If we have a real good day, we might snatch a draw. But not very likely that at the moment.

The thing is if we go 1v0 up in a game I always feel confident we can hold on when it's backs to the wall, without him I don't think so. I'd go with 2 strikers and attempt to simply outscore them (obviously) as we won't keep a clean sheet.

I'm trying to find some inspiration to go to Barnsley. Reading all the negatives on here isn't doing it for me. Come on guys we need to try to be a little more positive.  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
IRWT We can do it!

Comfortable 3-0 victory for us. First clean sheet. 4 games unbeaten. Season beginning to take shape.

Enjoy your visit tomorrow, and good luck moving forwards.

Can't see where the goals are coming from, and we have struggled badly keeping clean sheets. The realist in me says 3-0 defeat. The optimist says its a derby, anything can happen and we owe them so a battling 0-1 in our favour.

Traditionally, I'd take issue with you on that but begrudgingly, I don't think you'll be far wrong. However, god forbid you manage to screw it up. Enjoy the odds on favourites tag while it lasts. Either way, Praise or Grumble will not be dominated by Owls and Blades tomorrow.

Whoever scores first will win.

And we were favourites against Wednesday and screwed that up.

I hear they battered you lot, but you robbed a win. Good. Horrible shower that lot.

Seriously, I wish you luck after today. Hope we're both still here next season.

Likewise. Lovely day for it and let's hope for a good atmosphere, good football and a decent ref. Squeeky bum time!
