The grey haired gent between shell suit kid and Free press kid is called Len or Eric, he lives or lived in Woodlands, seen a few times at KMS, though not recently. West stand where meets Black bank, near to pitch side. Used to work at Rockware, think at back of photo ( ginger Hair) is his "Mate" at DRFC and Rockware "Tony" he was from Armthorpe, sadly died pre Keepmoat. The guy 3rd from right ( sun glasses ) I think is also a Len. We all stood relatively near each other on Pop side at BV, moving to suit direction Rovers kicking,

Anyway by coincidence when the Coffin arrived that day I was up the front looking like an Undertaker in a big black coat. Saw it once on TV but not on Youtube (there's a challenge)

He did that. And it is an utter gem of a composition. I've got a signed print on the wall above my desk at home.

And he's used it for a book cover too.


Regarding the photo at the top of the thread, Roy took another one from the same place and I'm guessing on the same day. I saw it maybe 10 years ago. I'm pretty sure I was 3/4s obscured at the back of the throng of people by the Pop Side exit.

I am indeed in shot. Though I must have knocked sick to be at an afternoon fixture in 1991 as I worked virtually every Saturday betwixt 1977 and 1993 (I believe the miserable look was compulsory at Rovers matches at that time)
