Yeah. Rovers gave him four years to come good and he only just started to show flashes. No great loss in the bigger scheme of things. He's hardly been an ever-present and obviously wants the money. There's more to life.

Feas just bear this in mind when talking about the "supposed " big teams .     Yes they have more fans but they also have major major overheads ànd yes IMO Bennett is a loss......to many a dead loss but not I hasten to add to me but to many it was too little too late. Yet another player gone for nowt .

who can blame bennet or stevens going for money, neither players are going to be anymore than 1st or 2nd league players so any thought of ambition doesn't come into the equation, make what you can while you can its only supporters that think they should consider ambition.what is more worrying for the rovers is can they or will they pay the wages the better quality players will demand.if not then its a case of getting lower grade players.

He'll be absolute quality for Pompey.

Not sure why people go on about players being sold for nothing as if it's that relevant anymore. Obviously nice when we sell a player for decent cash, but on the other hand, that usually means having a player plucked from the side mid season and so there is the cost of that.

These days it's much more about wages. Offering a player a long contract is a risk. If they improve a lot after signing then they will be wanting more money from either us or be wanting someone to buy them. The downside is they may get worse and then we have a heavy wage bill sat on the bench, or worse.

So, keep up with the times, I'm sure the club considers these things.

No club is going to offer a fee for a player in his last year of a contract, if they can get him for nowt. Not the clubs fault when a player goes in that situation.
