Yeah. Congratulations to them. A few of the old clubs are in the National league. Likes of Morecambe don't even stay in L2. They go up again. It's great.

Yes we’ve lost Blackpool, however only just a little further up the M6 for another away day !

Got the rub of the ref green today but amazing to think having been non-league and circled the L2 drain for a couple of seasons they've jumped up into L1. Had some good battles with them over the years and share a bit of crossover with Mandeville, Justin Jackson and Rigoglioso playing for them.

Newport were the best of 2 teams having a poor day.

How Madley got the pen calls so badly wrong is just crazy.
The Morecambe one wasn't even in the box, the lad fell inside.

Love it or loathe it, VAR would have corrected both decisions.
It seems a nonsense to have the tech available, but not use it in the play-offs.

Probably cost Newport a lot of money, those mistakes!

The downside to Morecambe getting promoted is that we have to face that horrible little Scottish t**t of a manager again.

Could be Bradford City’s next manager...when asked after the game he was non- committal.

Well done Morecambe; a bit of a fairy tale is that, and a day out at the seaside for us next season.

Having said that, it was 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. God, it was dreadful, and Bobby Madley had a stinker.

C'est la Vie.

I only saw a bit of it but I had to laugh at Ellison trying to claim a penalty for a handball offence that never was.
I remember him sticking his hand up against us at the Keepmoat and the look of horror on his face as he looked towards the Lino.
No worries, the Lino ignored it and so did the ref who was also very near to it.
I couldn't believe that decision.

this whole league is substandard - it shows how the kiddies of Bolton could catch up.

Newport were top at Christmas then sent all their loans back and got a new job lot ( a bit like when you go to the library)-- they had a habit of getting players sent off then . Totally expected them to fade away but they hung in there. - got that wrong

the Champions Cheltenham had a miserable 82 points quite possibly the lowest in modern times ??

https://www.thefishy.co.uk/leaguetable.php?table=4&season=18

checking the champions points total starting from 2005-6 (fishy only goes back that far)

we have  winner points ---- 3rd place points -- 7th place points

20-21 cheltenham  82--- 3rd got 79  ---  7th got 73
19-20 extrapolated swindon 88 -68-74
18-19 lincoln 85-79-71
17-18 accrington 93--84--75
16-17 portsmouth 87---85- 70
15-16 northampton 99-85--71
14-15 burton 94--85--71
13-14 chesterfield 84 --81--71

chesterfield with 84 is the second lowest winners total

this league is totally dominated by loanees (which league isn't)

spare a thought for the young  loanees -- they go on loan miles away from home -- no friends -- cant do  things like socialising and having "fun" - so many will have underperformed

at least Rovers loanees had their bibles

we all thought it was just a matter of time before Morecambe got relegated  like we used to think about Crawley - shows what we knew

If anything the playoffs are where VAR was meant to be used! one game one decision worth millions and so much to the clubs fans. Over the course of the rest of the season you can say it'll even it's self out and it's probably not far off the truth. But in a playoff at Wembley not to use it when available is very weird.

Now without a manager. Adam’s left to take over at Bradford by the looks of it.

Thank f**k for that. It's bad enough having to see Steve Evans twice a season without adding Adams in too. Watch Morecambe appoint Westley now though...

Are you getting him mixed up with Charlie Adam?
I remember him and Charlie having a running battle at Blackpool.

I'm pretty sure him & Adams had a spat when Richie was at Swindon. Adams saying something along the lines of
"What has he done in the sport?" sort of thing.
Could be wrong though!

Tell a lie! It was an exchange when Richie was at Salford last November...

"Salford 2-1 Morecambe tonight.

Morecambe boss Derek Adams:

“We were thoroughly outstanding and did not deserve to lose. End of story.

If Richie Wellens comes out here and says anything other, then he does not have a clue about football.

Not got a clue.”

"Salford boss Richie Wellens:

“I was a better player than Derek Adams so I’d like to think that I know a little bit about football.

“I don’t think he needs to come out and say that.

Do I think they deserved to win?

No.”

I’d forgot about that Monkcaster, I was thinking more of playing careers.
I do remember Adams trying to play mind games with us and crowing about when they were favourites to be champions in that last week or so.
He also claimed would be top of the league if you only counted Saturday games as they were poor on Tuesday night games.
He seemed to spout rubbish regularly.

Yeah, that’s right, idler. He was apparently advertised for the post last December. See this link from the local paper:

Looks like our nearly-man Stephen Robinson is going there to replace Adams.
