« on December 08, 2021, 09:25:07 pm by tyke1962 »
Just wondered how he played last night for Oxford United .

Hoping we are going to see him back here and be the player we know he can be .

Probably need him in league one next season mind

I thought he was brilliant, one of my favourite loans here.
Class above anything we have now.

Let's be honest, if Kane didn't take that game by the scruff of the neck against our current midfield, then he'd have gone backwards quite a few steps in his development. He was pretty good, sprayed the ball about well and got about the pitch, but it wasn't exactly a difficult task for him.

Would be interested to know if there was anything genuinely in him wearing No26 though.

I think league 1 is his level, or at least should be for a couple of years.

Bang average - he’s definitely gone backwards since his time with us.

From his time with us i honestly can't believe he's not at the very least a starter for a decent championship club. In his first few months with us i was thinking he's going to be a Prem player easily. Was head and shoulders above any midfielder in pretty much every game for us and could do it all

Didn't look the same player that was with us on loan though  I thought but played in a very different role so hard to tell where he's at isn't it?

Herbie did say that Copps had been a big influence on him.
I also thought that him choosing the number 26 was a tribute to the great man.
Herbie was excellent last night.
Comfortable with the ball and always available to receive a pass.

I think he played a lot deeper yesterday which didn’t allow him to be as ‘creative’ as he was with us

That might have been an enforced decision James.
Someone at the game last night said that Oxford had to make a few changes to their team because of a covid outbreak at their club.

He completely ran the game last night, took the piss out of our midfield and made the game look so easy, don’t know how he is still playing in league 1. Can’t believe he can’t get in barnsley squad with how they’re doing this season.

We heard he had a bust up with ex HC Schopp .

Something went off before the Man City friendly because Herbie wasn't even in the squad for that game which is strange given it was agreed with City you could use multiple subs .

A few days later he was loaned to Oxford .

.... for me 2nd best loanee weve ever had - behind Tony Woodcock who went on to collect 42 [?] England Caps
When it looked like he was leaving I went to see his last match at Gillingham but he stayed. Good day out with Hound though lol

I am enjoying watching Ethan Galbraith - some player he is [all above are imo of course]

Tyke.
He was the MOTM no doubt. As others have said he made it look so easy. The battle between HK & Tommy Rowe was one to watch. Oxford are a good team to watch & Herbie compliments them well. Best wishes Tyke & Herbie.

Good memory jog there Wolfie.
What a shino journey that was but more than worth it for the laughs and the match result.
I remember you saying it might be Herbies last match for us but thank goodness it wasn’t.
I also remember that stunning blonde WPC in the pub.

He never had to break sweat. Played a deeper role than normal.
Sprayed the ball around. 2nd half Tommy Rowe started to get in his face but he still looked a class act.

Hard to tell, as he was playing against a non-existent midfield.

He’s not at this club so no point in discussing him

Slightly unfair dont you think on Galbraith, Rowe and Smith worked his socks off.

I'm obviously "over the hill" as I remember the Pub and the fact it had real ale advertised but didnt have any !

I wont go there again lol
