Wales are a one man team . No Bale to bail them out . See what did then ?
-
If we're a one man team, that man is Joe Allen, not Bale. Of the three big players - Bale, Allen, Ramsey - Allen is the one that keeps our system and play ticking over.
Ireland weren't in the game last night until they took Allen out and nullified Wales.

Wales have 1 world class player, two good ones and the rest are nowhere near ability wise. They over acheved at the Euros which can happen in tournament football as its a format which requires luck and things to fall your way to do well. They deserved a bit of luck to be fair to them after what happened to Gary Speed.
-
I'm not Welsh but was fuming at Ashley Williams lack of commitment after playing a piss poor pass.
Granted Hennessey did him no favours but if that was me i'd have been busting a knacker to make amends, not a half arsed jog.
-
Williams has been horrific for Everton all season. Made massive errors in nearly every game. Coleman’s fault for picking him.

Pretty fair summing up, it's not exactly a shock for them not to qualify. O'Neill has done a fantastic job with Eire, though, I'd say they are an even more limited bunch than Wales with no-one in Bale's or even Ramsey's class.

Took great delight in seeing the Welsh crash out after last year's antics at the Euros.
They celebrated us going out more than they did themselves going through.
-
Slightly OT but Australia have just beaten Syria in the 109th minute to guarantee them a play-off spot.
Syria hit the post with a free kick with the last kick of the ball.

Ditto the above from me.
I won't forget them singing "are you watching Enger-land" after we went out.
Glad they will be watching the WC on the telly.

Even better.

Yep, and I'm sure they were all speaking English before you walked in the pub too.

He must've gone to the same pub I did then. :coat:

dont know why fans of the home nations wouldnt want other teams from the home nations to make it through to the world cup finals or euro finals? and why should england fans cheer that wales or scotland arent going to russia? bizarre
-
Ferguson must have it on for our English players on this basis then.
Never fathomed dislike of Scots or Welsh, nor lengths folk go to support England. Why would you want to go and cheer on a load of Man Utd and Chelsea players. Each to their own I guess.

Probably because the jocks and welsh, in the main, are happy when we (England) lose and are peed off that we always get to the finals and they don't.
-
Exactly, I wanted Wales to do well at the Euros last year until I saw their churlish reaction to us going out. It's no surprise that peoples' attitudes shifted after that.
CBCB - Crazy thing to say. Rovers fans who support England aren't doing it because they're Chelsea or Man Utd players. They're doing it to support English players.
-
Yeah I cheer on all the home nations and I even wanted to see the Scots in Russia. I cheered for Wales apart from when we played them obviously right up until we went out and they celebrated like they'd won the tournament themselves.
So Yeah, I'm glad that the Republic of Ireland beat them and I hope they can get through the play-offs.

We're all British until a ball is kicked and then they're on their own. Watched the England game, on Sunday, whilst on holiday in Italy. In an Irish bar, full of Scots and maybe just me watching the England match (2 screens almost side by side).
On one screen, I'm watching paint dry, whilst on the other there was the inner joy of watching Scotland do the 1-0 and you f..... it up scenario. Walked out at the end, bored, but strangely satisfied.😏
