On the verge of history

Next week is a match of potentially monumental historic importance for us. If we win, we're not only all-but safe (we'd need another 4-5 points from 9 games and it's inconceivable that our form is going to collapse that badly).

But it'd also put us within touching distance of Sheffield Weds. This is where the historic importance comes in. We have never, in our 135 year history, finished as the highest South Yorks side in the League.

Win next week and we will have our best ever chance to pop that cherry.

In issue 68 a few weeks ago I wrote an article on the entire history of league positions of the 5 S. Yorks teams in the football league - 2009-10 was the first time we had even finished as high as second South Yorks side in the League. Maybe Glen can post a link
