16 grammar schools in England share £50m funding pot.

Absolutely nothing to see here, business as usual.

''Three in four of the selective schools chosen by the government are in the constituencies of Conservative MPs''

''Almost half of the grammar schools chosen to receive the funding are located in the home counties and only one school that will benefit from the Selective School Expansion Fund is in the north of England''

I’m biased but had a great education at a grammar school
I’m sure others enjoyed their time at high school too

I went to a grammar school and a lot of the teachers were stuck in their ways from the 40d and 50s . On my first day we had to stand up in turn and tell the rest of the class our names and what our parents did for a living. I was the only one out the whole class of 30 who’s parents were divorced.

I'm all for better education unfortunately with a system such as this it's not available to all and when it's a public system then it should be. Set the standards high and give everyone the same opportunity. I have no problem with anyone accepting the opportunities that come their way but if it is public funding there should be equal opportunities.
