Today’s team
COYR
-
Soft in the middle of the park. Imo
-
Looks a reasonable line up. My main concern is Richards depending on whether he wants to take on MK on his own or plays a team game. I hope Copps and Bostock can have a positive influence and we see the best of him.

Agreed, not been impressed with Richards performances or body language in the last few games. Undoubtedly has talent but whether he was actually playing for the badge and not just the previous manager remains to be seen for me. I hope he proves me wrong starting today.

If T-R has anything about him and professional pride he will realise that he has to give 100% for whoever he is playing for.
If Butts thought he wasn’t doing I’m sure he would either have had a word in his ear or left him out of the team.
-
AB’s had a week to get this team selection right I’m not sure he has but let’s wait and see. We can’t be conceding quick goals again. Let’s hope the four attacking playes can score having put Okenabirhie on the bench.
-
Who is doing commentatory today.
IFollow cut in with their adverts just as the commentary started.
-
I would of gave Jones a rest looked under pressure last week and was not confident enough may be he could of done with a game or two out of the spot light but time will tell

Liam someone? Looks like Robbie on his own for the main part.
-
Liam Hoden did pre-match with Robbie.
-
With over 3 mins on the clock we’ve started better than the last time out
COYR
-
On Mk dons first atttacks both fullbacks beaten easily
-
Wright has been poor with his early passing, given the ball away three times.
-
Mk Dons possession must be about 80% so far, we’ve barely seen anything of it.
-
Mk Dons possession must be about 80% so far, we’ve barely seen anything of it.
Bbc says 69% Nick but they aren’t doing much with it.
-
Bostock’s as bad at tackling as Richards, won’t be long before he goes in the book!
-
Looks rusty, understandably
-
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Game sounds very droll and based upon only really hearing what the Dons are doing, we seem to be playing same old same old.....if I’m wrong ...blame the commentators !
-
MK Dons average the most possession in the league. 60%, we average 52.9%. They boss every game they play, we just need to counter them.

They’ve got a couple of very good passers of the ball in Surman and McEachran, doesn’t really surprise me. I’d be happy to have either one of them in our midfield.
-
Fantastic run from Copps and ball from James sees us in behind for our first chance, well closed down by the keeper but Copps could probably have done better than the tame cross that he managed.
-
Sounds like we will maybe need to concede a couple before we work out a way to score ourselves......
-
The iFollow replay man strikes again.
-
Couple of chances for MK and a good save by Jones. All came from a misplaced (simple) lay off from Richards when we were attacking. I’m really not seeing it with Richards at the moment, hope he proves me wrong but for the past couple of months I think he’s been a waste of a shirt.
-
Richards has only had 3 touches, and 2 of which he passed it to the opposition.
No spark in the team up to now.
-
Richards just found himself with the ball outside the box, ran into the box and fell over
-
james has hurt himself again

I got an invitation to Stamford Bridge to a European game when McEachran made one of his first full starts and I thought he was superb and would make the breakthrough there. Proves I know bog all but I did get to have a long chat with Peter Bonetti!
-
Hull, Perterbro and Pompey all leading.
-
Need to get the finger out, down to 6th as it stands
-
phewwwww.....
-
Phew, we were lucky there, and again.
Well done Jones.
-
Just watched the Marquis goal for Pompey.....easy peasy when you have 6 of your own in the opposition box....now I see where we are going wrong, we are playing with wide players who produce very little, and let’s be very honest... just aren’t good enough !
-
Jones with about 4 superb saves he is really keeping us in this
-
Jones with about 4 superb saves he is really keeping us in this
Cloth between his ears with his passing though.
-
We got a corner
-
Jones making some great saves but he gives me the willies with his delays in distribution, often getting caught out in the process.
-
Jones with about 4 superb saves he is really keeping us in this
Cloth between his ears with his passing though.
Really needs to learn when to just boot it over half way like today this pitch is not one for passing it out from the back
-
Jones with about 4 superb saves he is really keeping us in this
Cloth between his ears with his passing though.
Difficult for him there. He shaped his body so he could only go left or central so he tried going to James but James didn't come to the ball, unlike the opposition. Our lads need to offer more with their positioning and runs.
-
Can we find someone who can manage us, this is poor yet again, a decent side would rip us apart
-
Need to get the finger out, down to 6th as it stands
Cream rises
At this stage Teams that are meant to be in the mix tend to dominate and win games, and DESERVE to be their...... I fear we will be the 3rd weakest team in the chasing pack by mid April....
But then again, we might not
-
Horton and Jones have been our best players so far.
-
Everyone been slating Jones for not coming out, he's clearly been working on it because he's been much better today. Great saves as well.
-
Sunderland gone ahead now.
The top three are starting to get away from the rest.
-
How we arent losing I dont know, thought we were very poor and Jones has kept us in game. Personally I would bring Feji on for Richard's and put Copps in the hole.
-
Jones definitely showing improvement today. Not much else to really shout about. How we are even in with a chance of the play offs is beyond me. MK Dons are as average as it gets in this league and they should be ahead at half time. Butler is a legend and Donny through and through but no chance he is taking us out of this division. This is dross
-
Not much to say other than Rovers need to familiarise themselves with that strange spherical object on the pitch.
-
Hopefully we start playing in the second half. Right now we've been given a lesson in passing, tackling, defending and shooting. Only Jones has kept them from scoring!
-
Only positive is we have not conceded a goal or goals. In attacking sense none of the players have been at the races. From midfield to the front four we have looked completely average.
-
Reece James doesn’t look anywhere near match fit.
Bostock too slow with his passing.
Need Robertson’s legs on I think assuming he is fit.
-
Clueless, laboured, sloppy, disinterested and lucky to not be losing. Majority of this group are more than happy to drop out the playoffs and see the season out.
-
I'd put a dustbin on for Richards. At least there's a chance you'd get it back off a bin.
-
I'd put a dustbin on for Richards. At least there's a chance you'd get it back off a bin.
Agreed, it's easier to get it off the opposition than get it back from Richards.
-
Sorry Baz how you pick on one player is beyond me none of them look good enough including Copps. We are poor.
-
Sorry Baz how you pick on one player is beyond me none of them look good enough including Copps. We are poor.
Baz is right, Richards hardly ever passes and just flops to the floor all the time. I've been saying for weeks that he doesn't offer enough to be worth a place and today he's been as bad as he's ever been in a Rovers shirt. The criticism is justified.
-
This is crap. What have they worked on in training? Looks like Jones has only been in training. Taylor Richards hasn't looked interested since Moore left and is a disgrace clearly going through the motions every game. Get Fej on. Lokilo offers nothing either he tries but just isn't good enough.
-
We seem to be getting worse as weeks go by.only one team in it today.Richards not in the game.well played Jones and Horton.changes needed for second half if we ant together anything out of the game.
-
Sorry Baz how you pick on one player is beyond me none of them look good enough including Copps. We are poor.
I could pick on plenty more! See my previous comment.
-
Bostock let that runner go past him and didn’t even chase him.
Well saved again by Jones.
-
Trouble is he’s on his own, no one make runs off him, poor Bogle not seen the ball all game, practicing self isolation up front. Play your most athletic players, at least youve got a chance of breaking the opposition down with runners for the likes of Bostock to find. Slow and ponderous would be the best description
-
Blackpool score with 7 players in or around the 18 yard box...... this is what teams WANTING to be up there do....they have a desire and willingness to get forward....
-
Seems just a matter of time before they score.
We haven't had a sniff of scoring.
-
Richards has been absolutely dreadful
-
Blackpool score with 7 players in or around the 18 yard box...... this is what teams WANTING to be up there do....they have a desire and willingness to get forward....
Was it from a corner or a free kick.
-
I hope we are going to step up second half. MK look most likely winners . 0 shots on target and if we don’t improve its going to be 0-0 at best and fame over if they score. we do not look like a side chasing promotion.
-

No
-
Lokilo unlucky there.
-
We aren't anywhere near good enough for the play offs. Shadow of the team we were.
I said at the beginning of the season that the lack of squad depth would cost us.
-
Should have scored there
-
For balance, that was a great pass from Richards. More of the same please.
-
Best chance in the game came the man who doesn’t pass (RA) and Lokilo should have least got it on target
-
Sums Lokilo up that. Crap
-
Lokilo only one who looks hungry. Coppinger left out on a limb every time he looks to make a cross.
-
Only one team heading for the playoffs on the balance of play so far and it's not us by a long way. Come on rovers ffs
-
We were 2nd best against these in the game earlier in the season too. It seems they are a team we struggle to get to grips with.
-
Love how everyone knows better on here.....massively critical of everything the players do. Personally, I think that we need to give MKD a bit of praise here as they aren't a bad team at all.
-
Likely looks like hecis trying and wants to win, at least.
-
Clueless, laboured, sloppy, disinterested and lucky to not be losing. Majority of this group are more than happy to drop out the playoffs and see the season out.
There’s massive bonus payments to all players reliant on them making the playoffs so I would have thought they’d show some interest.
-
Bogle having a mare too
-

You can only get that if you are god enough and being led the right way
-
Richards does it again but actually wins a free kick this time.
-
MKD have some very good player, we need to give them some credit
-
You can only get that if you are god enough and being led the right way
Freudian....?
-
Blackpool winning
-
Can any 1 honestly say that the management team have tried so do anything to influence this game ? , just seems like players and running round with no instructions
-
Blackpool winning so we out of play offs the last we will see of them without. Sims and Taylor
-
always amazes me how much professional footballers miss the target from free kicks? I played with people at school who could hit the target more consistently?
-
Blackpool winning
Very very soft penalty for Blackpool
-
Blackpool winning
That will drop us out of the top six then.
-
Wrong player off for me should have been Richards off
That free kick was shit at least make the keeper make a save
-
Can any 1 honestly say that the management team have tried so do anything to influence this game ? , just seems like players and running round with no instructions
And so it begins.......
-
always amazes me how much professional footballers miss the target from free kicks? I played with people at school who could hit the target more consistently?
That and not beating the first man from a corner. Drives me mad.
-
Don’t understand why Copps has come off before richards. Richards needs sorting out ASAP, thinks he can take on the world.
-
MKD have some very good player, we need to give them some credit
Yes but 1st half simply just not good enough, I thought/hoped we'd look fresh after a small break. Looked anything but.
-
Blackpool winning
That will drop us out of the top six then.

Red card for Portsmouth - don't know who.....
-
Wrong player off for me should have been Richards off
That free kick was shit at least make the keeper make a save
Agreed on that.....and that.
-
Not sure how you can blame the manager when his players can't get the basics right.
-
We were 2nd best against these in the game earlier in the season too. It seems they are a team we struggle to get to grips with.
Just these?
-
Red card for Portsmouth - don't know who.....
Marquis
-
Posh 5 nil up now against Accrington
-
Clueless, laboured, sloppy, disinterested and lucky to not be losing. Majority of this group are more than happy to drop out the playoffs and see the season out.

Pretty obvious statement that one Steve!
-
Metalmicky answer the question mate at least
-
Posh 5 nil up now against Accrington
Posh do get a few big wins don’t they.
-
Metalmicky answer the question mate at least
What question?
-
The one I asked but u replayed with and so it begins ?
-
Need Richards off and Robertson on
-
Need Richards off and Robertson on
......and that.
-
The one I asked but u replayed with and so it begins ?
I don't think you can point a finger at anyone just yet.. but mid-game I ain't getting into a debate...
-
Love how everyone knows better on here.....massively critical of everything the players do. Personally, I think that we need to give MKD a bit of praise here as they aren't a bad team at all.
But we are..........that bad!
-
1-0 MK
-
Ffs
-
Remember when we had a full week off and it showed? Moore was good at that. Looks like they've had the week off
-
ffs
-
Well, that was inevitable
-
Well that’s it
-
I’m not in the butts out gang but every 1 is slating Richards but I don’t think butts has asked enough of lads up to now , he may pull it out back let’s hope so
-
Took a deflection - was going straight to keeper when it left the strikers foot
-
Can't say mk don't deserve it. I don't think we've done enough to justify getting anything out of this.
-
surprised it took so long. :(
-
Yeah, no. We’ve been crap today. Hate to say it but don’t think Butler is up to the task.
-
At current rate we'll end up about 12th.
-
Wonder if they will sit back even more 15 mins to go hopefully it will wake us up
-
This game had 0-0 all over it tbh.
I think mid-table obscurity will be where we end up I'm afraid.
-
Harvie got the better of Halliday all too easily for that goal.
We just aren't robust enough in defence, are we? Clean sheets are so, so rare.
I'm afraid our season is petering out.
-
current top 10
-
Not watching anymore. If they can’t be bothered then neither can I.
-
Make the change and make the change now. Waiting til the end of the season doesnt make any sense. A new manager now allows them to see what they are working with, what they need and allows us more chance to hit the ground running next season. What is happening now is never going to work and its painful for all involved.
-
out of the play off places as it stands
-
Harvie got the better of Halliday all too easily for that goal.
We just aren't robust enough in defence, are we? Clean sheets are so, so rare.
I'm afraid our season is petering out.
It looked all too familiar. Player runs at Halliday, cuts inside too easily and it leads to a goal.
-
Another limp performance. No cohesive plan and what was a season of such promise is going out with a whimper. We’ve had some bad luck with injuries and the timing of Moore going didn’t help but f**k me is it depressing to watch the team and the club fail to grasp the opportunity available to us and churn out guff like this week after week.
-
Yep need a manager in within next couple of weeks or it’s season over
-
Posh 5 nil up now against Accrington
Posh do get a few big wins don’t they.
A properly run club
-

That money will be very safe indeed, infact it should be committed to next years player budget....today!
-
Harvie got the better of Halliday all too easily for that goal.
We just aren't robust enough in defence, are we? Clean sheets are so, so rare.
I'm afraid our season is petering out.
How many more goals are we going to concede from the right hand side? Yeh but Halliday is good going forward.
-
Harvie got the better of Halliday all too easily for that goal.

Every game the winger always gets the better of Halliday too easily.

But the squad is set up to play this way, this is Moore's squad. Butler or another manager would have to make do with this. So getting rid of Butler and allowing another manager the same amount of time to then create their own team would be very unfair on Butler.
-
Posh 5 nil up now against Accrington
Posh do get a few big wins don’t they.
A properly run club
6-0 now.
I think Ferguson is heading for his first title.
-
It's really poor isn't it? Nothing to excite me about this side really. It's stale, dull, predictable and largely ineffective.
I'm usually super positive but we aren't showing anything.
-
Robertson on and pace has picked up a bit already.
-
It’s the tactics not the players
-
It's okay, we get to restart form scratch with another bunch of loanees and short term signings next season.
-
Can any 1 honestly say that the management team have tried so do anything to influence this game ? , just seems like players and running round with no instructions
Agree.
Butler not up to it, he was the easy choice.
Players too comfortable with him.
-
At current rate we'll end up about 12th.
I think 10th, .....
Maybe someone could do a Poll and see where Rovers supporters actually think we will end up.....
-
We av got what we deserved in this game up to now , we set up for a point or a breakaway goal , not good enough for a team pushing playoffs , no fight , no attacking intent and most importantly no plan
-
Halliday not being protected by weak midfield.
He is good going forward, so why not play him in the Jon Taylor role
-
MK Dons have a screamer.
I think they will start fannying about now.
-
Posh 5 nil up now against Accrington
Posh do get a few big wins don’t they.
A properly run club
6-0 now.
I think Ferguson is heading for his first title.
7-0.
-
It really is staggering how utterly shit we have become. No fight, no ideas, no hope!
-
It's okay, we get to restart form scratch with another bunch of loanees and short term signings next season.
Oh god please no.
It's clear the loan players just don't care, why would they?
-
Only 2 players to come out of this with any credit is Horton and Jones
-
Ball retention has been awful today - no platform to create anything from.
-
Only 2 players to come out of this with any credit is Horton and Jones
.....that as well.
-
It really is staggering how utterly shit we have become. No fight, no ideas, no hope!
Been like this since before Moore left.
Need fresh blood, an experienced manager who's not afraid to shake it up.
-

We were like this before Moore left.

Both bang average in my opinion, Horton offers nothing going forward
-
It's okay, we get to restart form scratch with another bunch of loanees and short term signings next season.

For there own career id hope. Would you not care if sent out on loan ?
-
Halliday not being protected by weak midfield.
He is good going forward, so why not play him in the Jon Taylor role
Maybe he should work more on his defending and less on his wing play.....if we were tanking teams with our flamboyant wing back play I would say fare play, however we aren’t being productive at all , infact these roaming jollies are stopping them from keeping their position in a back four.....
-
It's okay, we get to restart form scratch with another bunch of loanees and short term signings next season.
Oh god please no.

It's clear the loan players just don't care, why would they?
They should care, for crying out loud. They are being paid very good money to play football.
Loan players naturally don't care about the club they are on loan to. Just there for their own gain.
Need a manager who can properly motivate and manage them
-
If the performance wasn't bad enough, the ref has now turned into a homer!
-
It's okay, we get to restart form scratch with another bunch of loanees and short term signings next season.

I mean they don't care about the club they are on loan to.
-
Halliday not being protected by weak midfield.

Is he good going forward? Zero assists this season. Second in lowest number of crosses per game by a right back and lowest cross percentage out of them too. Makes a few decent passes into midfielders but isn't very efficient at stopping chances or creating them.
-
It's okay, we get to restart form scratch with another bunch of loanees and short term signings next season.

I gathered that, hence my post. Glad you got it right in the end :crying:
-
Halliday not being protected by weak midfield.
He is good going forward, so why not play him in the Jon Taylor role
I'd rather see him in the bench warming role
-
That was very worrying today.
We are a shadow of the team we were earlier in the season.
-
For all those having a go at Richards most if not all our chances came from his passes
-
Posh 5 nil up now against Accrington
Posh do get a few big wins don’t they.

6-0 now.
I think Ferguson is heading for his first title.
7-0.
That front three at Peterbro are some combination.
-
Posh must be licking their lips at the prospect of playing us twice towards the end of the season :(
-
Only 2 players to come out of this with any credit is Horton and Jones
Thought halliday had a good game aswell. Defence didn’t really put a foot wrong just created nothing apart from a few bright moments from lokilo.
-
Butler on pitch fist pumping players as they walk off , don’t think so I’d be fuming if I was manager of a team and just watched that
-
Was Bogle playing today. Jules had him in his pocket all afternoon.
-
It's okay, we get to restart form scratch with another bunch of loanees and short term signings next season.

Well they should care who they are playing for. They are supposed to be professionals for heaven’s sake.
-
Camps all there was only 1 or 2 times in the game that any 1 got up with him and tried make something happen though , he can’t do it on his own agains 3 CBs
-

He was lively yes but why does he not shoot when he has the opportunity.
I was screaming at him to shoot on 3 occasions.
-
Apart from the first 2 games under Butler, Rovers have been poor since the Fleetwood game early Feb. We’ve taken something like 9 points out of a possible 36 and are lucky still to be so close to the play offs. A vast improvement is needed over the next 6 weeks or so to have any chance of making the play offs

In what way are they properly run??
-

I agree but he never held on to the ball at all today but yes he had no support.
I am really concerned after that today. There is no self belief in the team.
-
What can you say we were never in the game.has been the same for a considerable time. Difficult to say where a win will come from.difficult to join our optimists as to what is happening.at least can’t be relegated. Will be very interesting as to what happens during the closed season.
