In darts what is the lowest checkout not possible with 2 darts??

2....
2 is the lowest checkout - double 1, but clearly only with one arrow therefore "not possible with 2 darts"
-
99
well done

Another easy one lowest score not possible with one dart
-
23

99
well done
I don't get it?
Explanation please?
-
All the numbers that could check out in darts, up to and including 98, can be checked out with 2 arrows. I argued 2, as that is the lowest checkout and impossible with 2 darts.
-
Does "checking out" involve finishing on a double?
-
Double or Bull, I understood?

99

Just the maths of it Stocky, just count backwards from it using the bullseye and double top with trebles and you will see that other than 2 ; 99 is the lowest unachievable checkout score.

I guess I'm missing the point here.
Lowest double for the second dart being double 1 so score of 2.
With the first dart 1-20 are achievable, 21 is achievable with treble 7, 22 is achievable with double 11, 23 is not achievable with 1 dart.
23 + 2 =25

25 checks out with 9 plus double 8 etc.
The OP wanted the lowest possible check out that you couldn't get with 2 darts. If you read the question that you must use 2 darts, then everything from 3-98 is possible with 2. Pick any number between 3-98 and you can get a 2 dart finish.
2 of course checks out but is impossible with 2 darts, but it depends on whether the OP means you must use 2 darts anyway.

Cheers IDM - that makes sense now

it is possible with 2 darts, you miss with the 1st dart and hit it with 2nd

Fair enough, I suppose it depends on exactly how the question is posed. Great for pub quizzes though!
