The men in white coats haven't been around for quite a while and with all the NHS cuts it might take a lot longer to knock at the door.

Our current unbeaten run is one in a row and counting

I think i will settle for 8 wins 8 draws and 2 defeats that's 32 points out of 54

i will take the draw on Saturday and let's go from there

Can't believe that Rovers doomster on Radio da da ....

I will say just 4 losses

10 wins 4 draws

And they will be totally predictable ... Just watch PvO and if I say win ( like v Wrexham ) it will be one of the other 2

i will take the draw on Saturday and let's go from there

Can't believe that Rovers doomster on Radio da da ....

it's about time to see how the two top tipsters on this site (in our dreams ) are getting on or should we say the two who had the bottle to predict

I didn't realise Donnywolf had predicted 34 points meaning he was mor optimistic than me with a mere 32

for 18 games getting 32 out of the available 54 is 1.77 per match

so far we have played 6 matches won 3 lost 3   meaning we are on 1.5 per match   with 3 out of the next four matches at home to inferior teams so "opportunity knocks"

even if we CONTINUE to average a lowly 1.5 points per game for the rest of the season   for 34 matches we get 51 more points to add to our 11 making 62 points for the season

So since so many of you have backed Rovers at  silly odds to make to top half  where will 62 points get us

season

2022-2023  12th team got 58 points averaging for the season 1.26 points per game
2021-2022  12th team got 61 points averaging for the season 1.32 points per game
2020-2021  12th team got 61 points averaging for the season 1.32 points per game
2019-2020  12th team got 47 points averaging for 36 matches 1.30 points per game
2018-2019  12th team got 65 points averaging for the season 1.41 points per game
2017-2018  12th team got 64 points averaging for the season 1.39 points per game
2016-2017  12th team got 66 points averaging for the season 1.43 points per game
2015-2016  12th team got 64 points averaging for the season 1.39 points per game
2014-2015  12th team got 61 points averaging for the season 1.32 points per game
2013-2014  12th team got 59 points averaging for the season 1.28 points per game
2012-2013  12th team got 61 points averaging for the season 1.32 points per game
2011-2012  12th team got 66 points averaging for the season 1.43 points per game
2010-2011  12th team got 63 points averaging for the season 1.36 points per game
2009-2010  12th team got 63 points averaging for the season 1.36 points per game
2008-2009  12th team got 62 points averaging for the season 1.34 points per game
2007-2008  12th team got 60 points averaging for the season 1.30 points per game
2006-2007  12th team got 62 points averaging for the season 1.34 points per game
2005-2006  12th team got 60 points averaging for the season 1.30 points per game

we all know why the 12th total was so low last season and it might well be again with so many wannabie teams with "dosh"

for the last 4 seasons it has been enough to make it as more money comes into the division
yes over the earlier next four seasons it wouldn't

Rovers are still 5/1 to make the top half  if you want to dip your bread.

Well done. I managed 11.37 (all my pot) to return just over 50 quid 7/2 I think

However with the injuries I'm sure Rovers and me will be struggling now

So you are brassic ???   How are you going to keep the Wolf from the door  :crying:

At least our points per game has now gone up from 1.5 to 1.71   like they say in the weather forecast "...  rising steadily"

to repeat 4/1 still available

Glad to see you have all been harvesting the 4/1  :scarf: :scarf:

--  talk about stupid odds i saw the Harrogate odds to make the top half are less than us   10/3 to 7/2

At the start of this thread i said 32 points from 18  win 8 draw 8 lose 2

after 7 games we have won 4 lost 3 and got 12 points

so from the next 11 games I ONLY need 20 point

win 6 draw 2 lose 3   would get the 32 points
or even win 5  draw 5 and lose just the 2
even win 4 draw 8 lose 2 would do it

so this ought to come off

the Wrexham 3 Salford 2 result

when we all saw how they did the Lazarus trick scoring as early as in the 88th and 89 minutes  ( not quite the style of neighbours Man United who have the decency to wait til injury time)  and were all peeved off!!

Not so "my friends" as Hercule Poirrot would say ..... Come the end of the season the Salford defeat could be the one with hindsight that secured our top half finish and we also play them at home very soon.

Quite a few top half places are pre-booked - so we have a narrow "window of opportunity" !!  Lets hope we don't have to defenestrate our betting slips  :crying:

update  after the Tranni match

At the start of this thread i said 32 points from 18  win 8 draw 8 lose 2

after 8 games after the Tranmere win we have won 5 lost 3 and got 15 points

so from the next 10 games I ONLY need ONLY A MERE 17 points

win 5 draw 2 lose 3   would get the 17 points to total the 32 points
or even win 4  draw 5 and lose 1 would get  17 points  to make 32 points
even win 6 draw 0 lose 4 would get 18 points to make 33 points
or  win 4  draw 4 and lose 2 would get  16 points  to make 31 points one short !!!!

it would have been nice if Walsall had lost as Newport i believe will be in a relegation battle (nearly) and just stay up

BET VICTOR WILL STILL GIVE YOU 2/1 FOR TOP HALF FINISH[/b][/color]

early Saturday morning update at 5.14 a.m.
sky are amazingly still offering 3/1 for a top half finish

early Saturday morning update at 5.14 a.m.
sky are amazingly still offering 3/1 for a top half finish

So we didn't get the point from a draw that I would settle for

We only made one mistake in the match (trouble is we did it three times  :crying: :crying: :crying: )

I think we can safely say Saltford who didn't exactly pepper our goal will be top half

Bradford Wimbledon & Walsall all lost

update  after the "GRIM" Grimsby match

At the start of this thread i said 32 points from 18  win 8 draw 8 lose 2

after 10 games after the "Grim" (literally) WIN  we have won 6 lost 4 and got 18 points

so from the next 8 games I ONLY need ONLY A MERE 14 points

win 4 draw 2 lose 2   would get the 14 points to total the 32 points
.....
even win 3 draw 5 lose 0 would get 14 points to make 32 points
or     win 3 draw 4 and lose 1 would get  13 points  to make 31 points one short !!!!

Despite Walsall trying to sabotage  the "mind blowing " predictions of Wolfie and myself by calling off the match

we can get around this  17/18 of 32 becomes 30.22  rounded down to 30 points for my target
and ..............................Wolfies 34 becomes 32.11  rounded down to 32 points

after 10 games after the "Grim" (literally) WIN  we have won 6 lost 4 and got 18 points

so from the next 7 games I ONLY need ONLY A MERE 12 points

win 4 lose 3 would do the trick
win 3  draw 3 lose 1   would do it
win 2  draw  5    would be one short

Nostradamus Wolfie needs only 14  points

win 4 draw 2 lose 1  would do very very nicely
of course win 4 draw 1 lose 2   would only be one short  but would still get him in the Doncaster Rovers Match Prediction Hall of Fame

(those men in white coats I mentioned at the start of this thread by the way have filed for bankruptcy as they aren't getting any business   :crying:)

I need to update this thread after the Wimbledon defeat -  as another match has been sabotaged   we are now down to a mere 16 matches from 18

so my 32 points target becomes   16/18 of 32  =   28.44  that's   28 points

Donnywollf's 34 becomes                  30.22   that's 30 points

update for the last two (Wimbledon & Crewe ) matches to follow - watch this space

As we all know we have lost the last two matches so no extra points.

I have belatedly realised thanks to our F.A.Cup win -- another match won't be played before Christmas - WHICH IS IN OUR FAVOUR for when we have the Cavalry back in January (+ signings ??)

so we only have  4 matches pre-christmas :-    3 at home only 1 away and it looks like we could have a full house of 12 points or 10

Tue 28 Nov   H   Colchester United   League Two   7.45pm
Sat 9 Dec   A   Accrington Stanley   League Two   3pm
Sat 16 Dec   H   Morecambe   League Two   3pm
Fri 22 Dec   H   Bradford City   League Two   7.45pm

------------------------------------------

we are now down to a mere 15 matches from 18

so my 32 points target becomes   15/18 of 32  =   26.66   points

Donnywollf's   34 becomes                  28.33   that's 30 points

As you all know we have won 6 matches that's 18 points in the bank   so 3 wins out of 4 making 27 points would do it nicely for me

Donnywolf needs 3 wins and a draw thats ten points to make 28 points and reach his target

so it looks like we are going to be very close to reaching the targets that you all thought were fantasy at the start of this thread.
