Realistically..
« on March 10, 2016, 06:08:46 pm by Copps is Magic »
.. barring a miracle turnaround or a freak goal, we're not going to win on saturday so can we agree now not to go into meltdown after game? Would be nice to have a week off from that.

Frosty, Donnyjim, Raggy .. you game?

I had a tenner on us to beat Scunny, that was the end of my deluded optimism. We'll stay up, but we've got no chance on the weekend, sorry to break it to you. And wtf does my opinion matter anyway? It's the players who need to turn up.

Let's be honest. Raggy is probably already typing up his little shit fit in time for 4:50 Saturday evening.

We are in relegation form, it will only take one of the bottom 4 to have a decent run, and we are down. Let's not delude ourselves, we will go down, bar a miracle, or a sudden and unexpected upturn of form.

We're not down bar a miracle, we've got Colchester Blackpool and Crewe to play, we need 6 points from that
They're as bad as us so it doesn't require a miracle

We are less competitive in league one than we were in the Championship, when we went down.

ONLY LAST WEEK IT WAS BEING SAID THAT "IF WE BEAT SCUNNY WE WILL HAVE A FIVE POINT CUSHION".

It didn't happen.

If we accumulate points at the rate we have over the last 8 or 9 games, we will go down.

If we manage just over a point a game, on average, until the end of the season - whenever and wherever we get them, we will most likely stay up.

I can understand the pessimism as it is hard to see at the moment where a goal is coming from, never mind a win.  But even in a poor second half vs Shrewsbury we could have on another day got 3 goals with Butler, Williams and Stewart.

Once we score, and score first in a game, I expect we will win.  11 games to go - 4 wins needed!

Who would have thought that the last match of the season   Doncaster v Burton could mean so much way back in August.

You could say the same about Leicester, Brentford, Cheltenham...

This is becoming so much alike as when we played Leicester in the last game a couple of years ago.
This time it is worse though because we will be at home !!

Hopefully, and I say that as hopefully as I can, we won't need to rely on the last fixtures day.

I remember going into the Bradford game last season thinking we had no chance, then we played pretty poorly as well for large spells of that game but ended up with a battling 2-1 win, courtesy of *that* goal from Curtis Main.

Perhaps anything is possible! You have to say...this is the least we'd expect to win a game going in all season, isn't it? Surely we can't sink any lower?

Last game of Season v Burton could be a game of goodbyes, both leaving L1, Burton to the Championship, us to L2.

We should be aiming to win against the 3 teams below us plus Peterborough and Coventry who are also in poor form, 10 points from those 5 games is a must.

Normally when teams are in this kind of form they muster up an unexpected win, hopefully this will be the case Saturday

We will beat all three, No team is beyond getting beat in this league, there is so small a margin between teams.

Might not be any consolation but the bookies are not too sure Bradford will win as a betting man I tend to think a team pushing for the top positions at home to a team on a slide and in the bottom few looks like a home banker. But when the bookies offer 10/11 or evens for the home team leaves you to believe they are not too sure 4/7 would have been more realistic.

They have a very iffy home record and lost at home to Colchester recently. Probably explains why their odds are not as short as they ought to be.

"...no chance on the weekend..."?

Some others who had 'no chance'.

Japan beating South Africa in this years Rugby Union World Cup.

Denmark 'coming off the beach' to become European Champions in 1992. Greece winning the same tournament in 2004.

Buster Douglas becoming Heavy Weight Champion of the World by knocking out Mike Tyson.

Oh ye of little faith.
