Missed this in the summer. Moved on a two year deal to Marítimo in the Liga Portugal 2. They have put him out straight away to their feeder side, Marítimo B in the Portuguese third tier, the Campeonato de Portugal. Doesn't appear to have played much or indeed scored yet.

What a season that was watching the following up front:

Odubeko
Agard
Griffith's
Bogle
Dodoo
Cukur
Hiwula (played there a couple of times)

Having Ironside and Faal is like having Ronaldo and Messi in comparison

Agard probably the exception as he had a decent career before joining us, but it is interesting that pretty much all of them were raised in very good Premier League academies but have had no career since - Mipo (West Ham), Reo (Spurs), Hiwula (Man City), Dodoo (Leicester City), Agard (Man United).

Admin, can we have a ban on the use of the name cukur. The bloke gave me a nervous disposition.

I don’t think you can say hiwula has had no career either.
Agard came through Arsenal and evertons  academy rather than Man U

Hiwula was a good L1 player when we signed him. No idea what happened to him though because he never even looked like a decent Sunday league player for us

Cukur is a great player, well he was for that one match in October 2021, I’ve got 7896 reasons to believe so

Tbf Pompey fans never rated him, Cov fans thought he was decent when they first came up but then wasn’t great when they were towards the top end of the league.

Something went badly wrong in his time with us. Towards the end of his spell, he looked worse than any professional footballer I've ever seen play for us, and that includes the Moss Side Drugs Squad. He literally was failing to find his target with unpressurized 5-10 yard passes by the end. Like he's totally gone to pieces. It was really quite upsetting to watch.

It really was, having seen him play previously I honestly wondered if he was a lookalike at one point

What summed it up was the goal at Morecambe where his bad pass lead to the scoring and then the game at home (want to say it was against Fleetwood) where he took an awful touch and the whole crowd moaned and then cheered when he got subbed off a couple of minutes later.

He left Ross County in September and as far as I know, is yet to find a club. His only season there was 22/23 and managed 1 goal in 21 league games in the Scottish Premier League.

It is not a particular judgement on his talent, but at every step he has gone backwards in his transfers. Starting at Man City, then Huddersfield, then Coventry, then Portsmouth, then us, then Ross County and now seemingly without a club. Only 29.

He’d completely gone at Pompey. The issue started before he got to our place.

Apparently he’s very good mates with Deji Sotana.
