VAR decision Luton Burnley

We all criticise VAR and Vincent Kompany did after a 90 plus minute Equalizer

What do people on here think ? Not of the whole VAR process but this one decision taken in isolation

Keeper had no need to come that far out , he wasn't strong enough & nowhere near collecting the ball. An error of judgement and just looking for an excuse. Perfectly good goal.

It’s one of those where if your team concedes that goal you would be angry but if your team had that disallowed you would feel hard done by.
There is a nudge on the keeper by a Luton player but does it stop the keeper getting to the ball?
I think that before VAR the goal would have been allowed virtually every time but in the modern world things are different.
Crazy.

It’s a foul, the attacker looks where the keeper is then turns his shoulder and backs into him

Irrespective of the merit of the keeper going for the ball, he was impeded. It's a foul.

If he had been fouled after the ball was headed, then fair dos but, I just can't see on what grounds they decided it was OK.

Wouldn’t happen to one of ours, they’d have to come off their line for that!

For me if you're saying that's a foul then you're basically saying that an attacker has an obligation to move out the way of a keeper that's charging out. And that's dangerously bad territory to start moving into.

We already have moved into similar territory with pens with regards to "there was contact" being used as some sort of justification for players falling over for penalties when their ankles literally get the slightest tap.  Guess what, its a contact sport

The attacker wasn't even looking at the keeper he just stood his ground and the keeper came out gung ho like a prat

Keepers have always been over protected.

That was a clear block. How that isn’t a foul. Wow. If that had happened anywhere else on the pitch it would be a foul. Any supporter would take that if there team had scored. The sensible supporters would admit it was a foul but take the goal.

If it happened to a Donny keeper lots on here would be shouting something along the lines of......

"we need a commanding keeper, someone who doesn't stay on his line, should be coming and collecting those crosses all day long!"

That last sentence is fair Spilsby.
It’s like when one of our defenders clearly fouls an attacker in our own box but the ref doesn’t give the penalty.
We are all glad but wouldn’t go out of our way to persuade the officials to give it.

If they aren't giving fouls for that then they might as well wrap up VAR now.
