As we are the only local league team in action on Saturday,is the Saturday afternoon show going to be a Rovers special?

There'll be a Massive feature on their Massive teams Massive matches next week. Possibly a big focus on a Massive match for the Massive Sheffield Ice Hockey team as well.

Full commentary on the game Mike Minay assisted by the ever over enthusiastic Mickey Walker.
Saw MW at the game on Tuesday sat in the press box with all of his mates.

I don't understand why some of us tend to have a hatred for Mickey Walker just because he doesn't suck up to everything Rovers.

Mickey still cares very much about the fortunes of the Rovers and is a good football man.
I also don't get the disliking of him by some on here.

My observation with MW is that he never appears to have anything positive/constructive to say.
He says about players he signed etc and moans yet has nothing to say about how to put it right.
I respect what he did at the club but his summarising to be polite leaves huge amounts to be desired. It's just my opinion.

Bugger Radio Sheffield, subscribe to Rovers player and you can listen to all games and not worry about the vagaries of who Radio Dee Dah are covering.

I appreciate he's not perfect by any means, and I don't like the way he says 'Doncaster' instead of Rovers. But neither do I like James Coppinger saying 'Doncaster' instead of Rovers either, and he's a legend.
I just feel that some people don't like him because he doesn't always say what they want to hear. Why should he?

He's completely negative, even when the other commentators are being complimentary he always puts a negative spin on it

If the negative comments were said in the last couple of years or so the chances are he was right to be negative. I'd rather him speak his mind than patronise like no doubt the Radio Sheffield commentators who he co presented with did.

Trouble with MW, for me. is that he's a dinosaur. His thinking is not even 20th century. It's 19th. His ability to comment intelligently is therefore severely circumscribed. It makes it a complete waste of time listening to him. And he's a negative t**t too.

Just take the take to listen to him reminisce it takes over the commentary. An issue I've personally raised with RS.
He's great at recalling old stories and interesting aspects of the clubs fairly recent past, yet cannot say how he'd put things right when it's going wrong.

In other words, he's a windbag intent on glorifying his own name. He offers practically nothing of value in the role of commentator.

I "think " the trouble is RS struggle to get anyone who can commit to being available to be the " expert summariser" DRFC wise.We as far as I'm concerned win him by default.

.....but he's still 1,000,000 times better than Keith Edwards :zzz:

He never says anything positive about us. Its like he's a summariser of the team we are playing. I honestly believe he's very bitter he got finished from us. Just my opinion.

Get Duggie on! MW is cringeworthy & I can't listen to him, Dean Barrick was good though. Russ Wilcox does Wednesday now & again, why not him.
