My observation with MW is that he never appears to have anything positive/constructive to say.
He says about players he signed etc and moans yet has nothing to say about how to put it right.
I respect what he did at the club but his summarising to be polite leaves huge amounts to be desired. It's just my opinion.

I appreciate he's not perfect by any means, and I don't like the way he says 'Doncaster' instead of Rovers. But neither do I like James Coppinger saying 'Doncaster' instead of Rovers either, and he's a legend.

I just feel that some people don't like him because he doesn't always say what they want to hear. Why should he?

He's completely negative, even  when the other commentators are being complimentary he always puts a negative spin on it

If the negative comments were said in the last couple of years or so the chances are he was right to be negative. I'd rather him speak his mind than patronise like no doubt the Radio Sheffield commentators who he co presented with did.

Trouble with MW, for me. is that he's a dinosaur. His thinking is not even 20th century. It's 19th. His ability to comment intelligently is therefore severely circumscribed. It makes it a complete waste of time listening to him. And he's a negative t**t too.

Just take the take to listen to him reminisce it takes over the commentary. An issue I've personally raised with RS.
He's great at recalling old stories and interesting aspects of the clubs fairly recent past, yet cannot say how he'd put things right when it's going wrong.
