Player of the season so far.
He's in absolutely renewed form. People thought he didn't have the right character to be captain but this is proving wrong. Keep him as captain for the rest of the season.
And to think we very nearly let him go to Barnsley.

Great goal. Terrific tackle late in the 2nd half when their man was through on goal. But why didn't he take the penalty? Or at least get someone other than Theo to take it?

Agreed Nick but he got most things right didn't he. He is a wonderful servant to our club as well as a wonderful player when he gets the bit between his teeth.

His performances don't diminish with the years. He's as effective now as he's ever been.

Coppinger was class,
The second half performance of the whole team was as good as we've produced in a long time.
Dickov deserves credit for making the changes, he won't get it but he deserves it

How we have been able to hang onto the services of such a mercurial player all these years is nothing short of a miracle.
Class act who wins headers he doesn't deserve to, makes tackles against all the odds and finally has such instinctive ball skills at times that leave you breathless.
Oh and I haven't even mentioned the goals that he scores or the youngsters in the Borough or squads over the years that he inspires.
James Coppinger take a well deserved bow. RTID

And he even managed to make a tackle last night too :chair:

Copps has been out most consistent player this calendar year without a doubt.
-
I seem to recall Copps DID take penalties at one time, but hasn't done so since he missed a late one that would have earned us a draw a few years back.
As Tyson scored the last one he took, at Watford, I'm very surprised that he didn't take the one last night.

Im dreading he day Copps announces hie retires.
Watching Rovers wont be the same without him.

As a lasting legacy and in tribute to James, I'd like to propose we introduce (and may be sponsor) an annual "Copp That" Trophy. An annual award to run alongside the player of the season, for the player who most consistantly demonstrates the most skill, or the most outrageous piece of skill, during the course of the season.
I would hope that most players would like to be regarded as the most skilfull and would aspire to win the trophy.
Thoughts?

You might be on to something there Baz...

Sounds like a great idea to me.
