Brothers in Arms

Just noticed that Ipswich have signed Danny Rowe (we have the better brother) got me thinking, anyone else recall any brothers playing either for the same team or opposite teams at the same time, Snodin's a prime example but its something you don't really see often anymore, the McCombes and Fabio and Rafael are the only ones I can think of

For Rovers, apart from the Snodins and Roberts I can also think of:

Glen/Steve Humphries
Steve/Dave Wignall
Neil/Andy Campbell
Darren/David Esdaille
Matt/Joe Mills
Paul/Jack McKay

and way back there were the Keetleys, 4 of which played for Rovers - Tom, Frank, Harold and Joe Keetley

Yeah, Granit Xhaka plays for Switzerland and his brother (can't remember his name, think it is something like Torlan) plays for Albania.

Dutch Uncle - the others are before my time, and I could be wrong here, but I don't recall the Campbells or the Mills' being at the club at the same time.

The Xhaka brothers.
Granit at Arsenal plays for Switzerland.
Taulant at Basel plays for Albania.

How about twins? I can only think of Rod & Ray Wallace and Ron & Paul Futcher who'd have been on the pitch at the same time...

Oh, and Allan Clarke was one of five brothers who played league football - was there any larger set of brothers who did so?

I saw the Kimble twins, Alan and Gary, playing on the same wing for Cambridge United back in the mid-80s. A most odd sight. Gary later played for us. Alan was the better of the two and went on to Wimbledon.

Five Keetley brothers played League football. Four played for Rovers, though only three at the same time.

If I remember rightly, the Clarkes had quite and age (and career) spread as well.

Tommy is miles better and playing in a lower division but on more money. Funny old game football.

Tommy's only in a lower division because Danny has just jumped up 3 from non-league. Likewise Ipswich needn't have paid him much as he has just signed from non-league. As anecdotes go that befit the "funny old game" cliche, this isn't really one of them.

Apologies Nick, I missed the bit about 'at the same time', I was giving brothers who have played for Rovers, at any time

Gary & Phil Neville. I'm sure Pogba has a brother playing for St. Mirren as well.

Is that the guy who played for Crewe a few years back? Didn't realise they were related. Poor guy, I can imagine he doesn't really like talking to his brother about football.

"Hey Paul, how's it going?"
"Not bad, I signed for Man Utd today for £90 odd million and pocketed a ludicrous signing-on-fee for my trouble. How about you?"
"Not so great, came off the bench to score an own goal in a pre-season friendly against Annan Athletic in front of 28 people"

Twins? Ex-Rover James Chambers, surely he's played with or against his brother Ashley at some stage?

I believe so. Gonna say, I bet there's a slight air of awkwardness at the Christmas dinner table when work chat comes up.
