Very moving and impeccably respected. Very fitting for john marquis to score just before it? All the best Mr Doncaster Rovers. Jill will be smiling.  :bbscarf:

I was tempted to ask the one that I took to walk back to Bradford.😉
To be fair though they worked very hard. Some questionable tactics at times but it was up to us to break them down.

A good player for this level a real nuisance with a goal or two in him. What is he now thirty eight/thirty nine?.

37, which amazed me. That puts him only a year older than Copps, but it feels like he's been around a lot longer.

I remember him at Chester it's good experience for our younger lads coming against a gnarled old pro like him.

Yes a fitting tribute to Jill - and it was touching as Paul Held the Gnome aloft. Also great to hear South Stand singing "one Paul Mayfield"

I am sure he will be appreciative of both.

( Pity an opposition Player has crept on to detract from this fitting thread. I will remove this part later and hope others may start a different Thread to discuss "him"  )

The problem is that if go through the posts since last visit you have a list of threads with new at the side.
Click on new and you join the thread after the last post that you read.
When you get going at a rate of knots you can forget exactly which thread that you are reading. A lot of threads on this board digress and I have commented on a thread and then realised there was another thread covering the point.
I saw Paul yesterday and also joined in the applause. Very fitting, and JM was clapping on the pitch has he was running at one point.

On behalf of Jills' family and myself we cannot thank the fans of Doncaster Rovers, for the excellent tribute on 58 minutes on Saturday and at Yeovil, we thank you for the cards and best wishes you have sent, also credit to the fans of Morecambe and Yeovil for joining in the applause. You are all a credit to the Club, which we both love.
Doncaster Rovers players, what can i say the way they came over to myself at Yeovil, off their own backs showed the bond and admiration the fans and the players have now formed. A very touching moment, which i thank them for. And the players dedicating last weeks win to jill.
The board, the players , the fans,  the management , Gavin and Liam and all the staff at Doncaster Rover have showed what a family club we are, and how we look after our own,  to Luke and he media team for putting a single red rose on Jill's  table in the press box,and getting the picture on the big screen how could you not be moved.
Tributes from other clubs fans around the world have been very comforting.
thank you once again
Jill would have blushed with all the wishes,
If Jill leaves a legacy it will be that players, fans, the club unite as one  bringing them all closer together.

My thoughts are with you Paul, ot was very moving to be part of the tribute on Saturday and it is heartening to see just how everyone in and out of the club has been able to come together.
