Trophy Presentation

If we win the title the trophy will be presented on a later date. The trophy will be at Blundell Park.

Not sure how they manage to present the Championship trophy on the day, unless a helicopter is involved.

Hopefully having the trophy at Blundell Park will be a similar omen to what we had last weekend!

It appears they did

Government is just as infallible too when it fixes systems in physics. Galileo was sent to the inquisition for affirming that the Earth was a sphere: the government had declared it to be as flat as a trencher, and Galileo was obliged to abjure his error. (1616).

They should have a replica.

Don't winners get a relica anyway?

Edit: it was a different league title when we last won it

They should have a replica at both ours and Pompey's game and the real thing at Blundell Park. Bit naff (assuming we do win it) when you have to wait for it then have some shite cheesy presentation thing where the players turn up in replica kit and jeans.

Another myth.

Galileo did not argue against a flat earth because he didn't have to. Medieval scholars, like the Greeks before them, believed in a spherical earth. And this knowledge went beyond the scholars, since there were many references to a spherical world in important popular literature from the middle ages.

You are missing the point. The 'experts' agreed the earth was a sphere. And just like today were roundly ignored by those in political power who said it was flat.

What more were you hoping for in a thread outlining the details of the trophy presentation? Some sort of dramatic twist?

Not someone blabbering on about the shape of the earth, I suggest you go to off topic to discuss off topic things

I was just following on from the natural progression of the thread, where bally1950 raised the flat earth myth. You should have nipped it in the bud then if you were so put out by it.

I was responding to a thread of a friend who I have known for 30 years, we regularly joke and have a laugh. Right Trophy.. Andy Butler believes it can still be won so do I.
