Tyler Garratt

How has Tyler Garratt got on in the friendlies so far? Became something of the forgotten man last season but he's only young and it'll be interesting to see how he progresses. We gave him a 3 year deal and he avoided the transfer list so hopefully we see some potential in him.

He did ok tonight with some good forward passing on the floor to the strikers feet to get attacks going

He's definitely not useless. Still very young as well.

Looked better left of a 3 than left wing back tonight but he played the full 90 so may just have tired. Definitely worth keeping hold of

I liked his work tonight, was solid enough at the back in the first half (aided by being alongside Taylor) and provided threat from left wing back in the second. Got a good volley off at the keeper and put one or two decent crosses in.

I noticed at Armthorpe that the senior players on the bench and the coaches were constantly talking to him, sometimes encouragement and other times informative. I think he has shown improvement since last season.

A lot wrote Garratt off last sesson because he werent getting a game, think some people forgot he was brought in as a youngster for the future.
Hopefully we get to see a bit of him next season more regular.

I thought that all the youngsters did well, going out on loan has certainly brought Garratt on

Fielding and Longbottom have injuries, they were with Craig Alcock in Costa before the game on Tuesday in Rovers garb.

Fergie mentioned loaning out some youngsters this season, naming Walker and Fielding but not Garratt which I take as a good sign that he'll be featuring from the off.

He will be needed if we dont improve the defence significantly.

Have a look at Garratt's (attempted) header against the Derby players goal.
The very least, he should be trying to get body contact.
