Very strange pre season

With just 10 days to go to kick off I would like to ask if we have really strengthened the squad from last season. It as been a very strange few weeks since may. We transfer list 5 players. All 5 are still on the book's, we promise to bring in premier league players. Yes we have Got 1 who sad to say is injured. Looking at the squad for last season's 1st game you have got to ask have we really strengthened.

If it was the 1st league game today you could say the defence is better with Andrew,but that would be it, but it's not so hopefully we still have a bit of time to get a decent player or 2 in add to that a better keeper

I find it strange how a squad which got us promoted with plenty of games to spare (yes they went on holiday then instead of making sure they won the league) and has strengthened even if only slightly, is now so bad it will struggle to keep us up this season unless we sign 1 more defender, the logic of some people just beggar's belief.

Some were but there were/are some good sides in that division. Exeter, Wycombe, Luton, Mansfield with Evans even the likes on Lincoln will be strong this year.

I think a lot of people underestimated the strength of the league last year. Yes there were some poor teams but that's the same with every league every year.

Of that squad, we've got rid of Etheridge, Lund, Calder & Evina (and lost Houghton), and replaced them with Turner, Andrew, Whiteman & Kiwomya (admittedly injured). We are still a week and a half away from kick off and I'd be very surprised if we didn't add to it, but if you think that the outgoing players are better than the new signings then you need your head testing.

Mind blank - Lawlor. And yes, Etheridge is still here for now, but he's crocked and I imagine when fit he'll be ushered out of the door. Certainly not in the first team picture.

We still have Lund and Evina admitidlly they are out on loan but because of this and no one interested in Middleton and 'Ross injured and Williams staying. We are unable to free up cash to strengthen  any more. So we are only slightly better off than this time last season

Williams Im okay with him staying,, the others we need to get rid of if were going to be a force in this league as we need better players!!!!

The spine of the team worries me and also the fact we keep relying on copps!!!!!! As good as he is there will come a point where he cant carry the team anymore and we dont seem to have a ready made replacement who will fill his shoes and act as a leader but still have his influence!!!
