Forget Trevor Kettle
« on April 19, 2024, 01:01:50 am by DonnyAps »
I went to the West Ham game tonight and that was 1 of the worse refereeing displays I’ve ever seen, the linesmen were not much better.
Spanish ref for a Spanish manager?????.

Despite that WHUFC fans were very good  getting behind their team and the Bayen fans  after the game were a credit to their club, really good fun and also knew they got away with 1.

All in all thoroughly enjoyable night.

Found this strange from the villa game.

In an extraordinary shootout after the tie ended 3-3 on aggregate after extra time, Villa keeper Martinez - who had been booked earlier for time-wasting - was shown another yellow card for appearing to gesture to home fans.

Martinez, who had already kept out Nabil Bentaleb's penalty, was allowed to carry on as his initial booking was not carried over into the shootout.

The Argentina World Cup winner then went on to keep out Benjamin Andre's attempt as Villa won 4-3 on penalties to advance to the last four.

Martinez then ran virtually the whole length of the pitch to celebrate in front of Villa's jubilant 2,600 travelling fans.

Asked whether he and his players thought Martinez had been dismissed in the shootout, Emery said: "Yes. He is very important for us from the bbc

Here’s a comment from Martinez after the game:”I just don’t understand the rules.” (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68840324)

So there you have it: a professional footballer being paid millions of pounds a year, and he doesn’t know the rules! You really could not make it up, eh?

Martinez not knowing the rule ref his 2 yellows the other night, well he wasn’t the only one that didn’t know it, commentators, pundits and 99% of the fans didn’t either. Id say that the only ones that did are those who officiate at that level
