Injuries to opposition Players

Nothing changes

Why ffs do we as fans / Club stand for the s**t dished out by the opposition again and again and again

I have suggested many times on here and elsewhere that we should tell the Oppos before each game via the Prog / Big Screen / Refs etc that :

a) if the Ref spots the game for treatment to an oppo Player we will give them the Ball back BUT

b) if the Ref does not stop play because the injury is not deemed serious - like their Number 11 with 5 minutes to go today - and the Oppos kick the ball out be it for a Throw / Goal Kick / Corner then we WILL NOT give them the ball back

Immediately they would say ok we will not give you it back either and the whole charade (of time wasting) would disappear overnight

I reckon that in such circumstances, when the ref stops the game the so called injured player should be taken off the pitch and the game restarted(unless of course it is a serious injury).
My bet is that the injured player would recover much quicker than they do in the current method.

One minute of stoppage time to go and yet another Gills player goes down with a non-urgent injury.  The Gills player puts the ball out of play so it is our throw.  We kick it down field for a goal kick and the minute left just disappears with time waiting by the goalie.  I totally agree that something has to change along the lines of the original post, to stop this blatant time wasting.  That said, why didn't we just throw the ball back to the goalie, close him down and make him kick it upfield.  At least we would have had a chance of playing out the last minute.

Not much extra time today bearing in mind stoppages and subs.

Was a bit shocked at only 4 minutes.

So how many of you noticed the tactical injury to Marquis while Joe Wright was off the pitch having his head injury treated?

Cute move that reduced the time played while he was off the pitch.

We saw it too, but my thoughts on things are still the same.

Thought Wright played very well today.

Butler while doing a good job, was basically anonymous, strangely.

Was a bit shocked at only 4 minutes.

Joe wrights injury lost three minutes, plus several Gillingham players being 'injured' and requiring treatment or sometimes not, but all wasting time.  The goalie wasted several minutes, including having a drink before taking one goal kick, plus several substitutions - 4 minutes was a joke.  7 or 8 would have been more realistic, but in truth we weren't destined to score today!

Butler was solid, bossed their strikers and had a good header blocked by their keeper.
If that is being anonymous I hope he is as bad every week.

Not sure if you were at the game today Chris???  Butler was excellent all game and kept their big striker quiet with his sheer physical presence.  In the end the striker was taken off as he had been booked and hadn't had any joy out of Butler all game.

Butler was fantastic today, dominated the back line for us, nearly scored and matched the bigger Eaves all the way.

Eaves is useless but we marshalled him well.

Butler was a class act today. He was over matched by a bigger man but brilliantly marshalled him and the rest of the back four. I thought 6 mins would have been appropriate for additional stoppage time.
