William Hague, according to David Cameron. Not sure I agree or that many on here will either.

I'll start with Sir Geoffrey Boycott. Any others?

Geoff for me too. Miserable, sour, misogynist, awkward, opinionated. A fine man.

Of course, King Arthur has to be there or thereabouts.

Having said that, William Hague has metamorphosed from awful teenager creaming over Thatcher to something resembling a decent bloke.

William Hague, should be stripped of his Yorkshireman status, for throw his lot in with the bullingdon boys. How can Thatchers love child even be considered a Yorkshire man, never mind great

Hounslow

Hockney would be in the running for Greatest Professional Yorkshireman. Wonderful artist but an odious caricature of a man.

Greatest Living Yorkshireman.
Surely it's a joke and the PM had his fingers crossed when he said it?
He would be around the bottom of the list for me slightly higher up than Peter Sutcliffe.

Patrick Stewart,Bean, Palin, Christie, Paul Rogers. So many to choose from.

However, it must be me.

But if it was PERSON and living or dead, Bronte would have to be in there, ALL of 'em.

I heard an old lass on the telly today saying that she'd put Sean Bean above Hague.

I'd put Mr Bean above Hague. And he's not even from Yorkshire.
