Great to see such a young set up, always felt Rovers have been left behind a bit in the young talent in the SY area. Sheff United seem to make at least one big transfer fee from one of their youngsters each season and over the years they've made quite a profit from their Academy. Barnsley sold Butterfield for over a million from their Academy set up and they have the young defender Stones who's attracting attention from Man Utd & Chelsea, Jordan Rhodes also went through Barnsley's youth set up. Surprisingly l can't recall many youngsters coming out of Wednesday's academy in recent years and during their "glory" years in the early 90's they seemed to snap up all the local youngsters.

Doncaster rovers have promised they are putting more time and effort into the youth and centre of excellence squads from now on and are working with Ben Mawson of Mawson sports uk. But I do agree it is not fair to be given a pro contract by your club and shipped off on loan straight away when the rovers bench is looking pretty deserted

Under the new FA EPPP the former "Centre of excellence" is now actually an Academy (Cat 3) and the now associated former Ben Mawson set-up has been rebranded as the "Development Academy".

After a quick bit of research:

Sheff Utd flogged Jacob Mellis for a million pound has a 16 year old to Chelsea, and Butterfields still recovering from injury, played his first practise match for Norwich a few week ago.

If Rovers could start producing youngsters of this calibre then it will be a huge success for the club, clubc the size of Rovers with small crowds need to develop their youngsters and make as much profit off them as possible.

I don't think those clubs are bothered what the likes of Chelsea & Man Utd do with them once they have the millions in the bank.

This is exactly why we have launched the "Tomorrow's Rovers" project.  Click HERE to find out more and support the development of the next batches of local kids to pull on the iconic red and white hoops.

I think if youth team and development players and parents and families knew more about this and the benefit to themselves it would gain then I'm sure quite a few more donations would come in maybe a leaflet handed out or summat

We shouldn't be concerned with whether 9 year olds are winning or losing.

Are they enjoying it and are they learning to play the game properly is all that really matters at that age.

Nobody has said they were concerned about winning I have just posted there scores and yes the kids are loving every minute of it and must be learning very well how to play the game hence the recent scores a few months ago these kids were complete strangers to each other but now are best of friends and look out for each other which make a strong team good luck to the lads
