It never seems to be very busy, and they barely hold any stock, so if it saves on wages, maybe not a bad thing!

We do need some presence in the town centre though, especially as no other sports shops stock Rovers products - which may make parents more inclined to get Prem club shirts for kids rather than a Rovers one. Location is key, and being stuck where they were obviously wouldn't have helped trade.

If it is just closed for the next few months, then fair enough, not only does it save on wages, but also other overheads such as electricity. I did wonder if the shop had closed permanently because of lack of business and I would imagine that business rates would be sky high which wouldn't help.

Can they afford to have a shop in Frenchgate?

I doubt it. anyway, it would be good to put it where the F1 Shop was if we actually was going to move to Frenchgate :)

How about sharing with the F1 shop bloody hell how many racing drivers live in Donny.

Actually look at that to share with one of the more specialist type shops and it would probably quite viable with modern pos technology

Don't know, but the idea of sharing with a similar type shop in the Frenchgate is probably  feasible its just a case of finding the right partner.

Pity they cant find a corner in the 4 major supermarkets in Donny. Supermarkets seem to sell everything else now.

Was open yesterday.
Not sure if the club shop will be reopening after the summer, as there was a to let sign on the shop aswell.

I like the idea of having some kind of presence in the supermarkets. The club shop was our only outlet in the town centre. The club should be marketing itself all through the town.

Rovers have contacted at least one large supermarket chain with a significant local presence with a view to them stocking a small range of Rovers merchandise, but the store manager declined the offer.
