I did wonder if I'd heard Saunders right when he said something about \"training tomorrow\" in his interview. I've thought for some time the players have too many days off. Maybe that accounts for some of the fitness issues we've had.

Presumably the bald Geordie bloke was the same one who was out on the pitch for the warm-up?

In Saunders' interview yesterday he was talking about what \"training\" would be today, and it was basically all recovery work, gym and lots of swimming, as well as getting protein and the right foods back into the lads.

Anyone know who this bald guy is - other than a trainer. He will get my vote of confidence if he can keep some of the players fitter for longer than the last regime

That's what's been reported, i've not heard anything about how serious/how long he'll be out for though. Normally I'd be more than worried but after yesterdays performance by our back line I am confident that we'll be ok for the short term.

Does anyone know any details about Spurr though?

A standard Hernia op is about 4-5 weeks out, we have got an international break coming up as well

It's a double hernia that he picked up last week at Reading, the injury led to their second goal after Tommy couldn't keep with Le Fondre. He will be out for a while.

Maybe someone has confused \"weeks\" and \"months.\" When I saw he was out for 4-5 months I assumed he'd done his knee ligaments.

Something else that i thought intresting in Deans interview, apart from creating your own luck i.e shooting more etc, was the comment he made about the high number of injuries at the club, which, to quote his words \"i will have to have a look into that\"

Surely Clem has overstayed his welcome. I hope he wasn't still wearing that grey jumper.

My old man is a tree surgeon - an extremely physical job, involving loads of stretching - and he was back at work after 2 weeks when he had his hernia op. Perhaps the fact that no work meant no pay had something to do with his quick recovery and return!

Isn't there a surgery in Germany that gets players back in training after just 9 days?

German efficiency. Dicken's needs to trade his Astra for a Passat.
