New Shirt
« on June 05, 2010, 07:36:22 pm by German Rover »
Why do the club not sell the shirt with no sponsor on it for those of us who don't wish to be walking billboards, it works perfectly well for Rangers and Celtic, Can we not have a chance to wear something a bit more tasteful please

Why would companies pay to sponsor shirts if all the replica ones didn't have a sponsor on it?

Mainly because they're shown on TV every Saturday night.

That only works for the likes of Newcastle, Florist, Cardiff. Not the likes of the local pub team.  ;)

it doesn't bother me on the pitch however I would rather not be a walking billboard for wright investments or one call insurance and which ever company puts their money on the back of the shirt. It is all about the viking badge on the front which represents our club and to a lot of people now due to the recent success of the club, the town. Even the red and white hoops do not mean as much as the badge does we had one season without it in recent memory in the conference and it was quickly returned to where it should be. I have seen the rovers playing in red, white and red and white home shirts and the colour of the shirt doesn't bother me, but being seen as nothing more than a walking billboard for which ever company happens to fancy putting a bit of money into the club to increase their profile is a bit much

Maybe not what you're looking for, but german ebay for some reason are flogging 07/08 shirts with no sponsors logo here.

Also the away kit.

Does anyone know who the make of the new shirt is yet? I know there has been a lot of speculation around it.

Even though you mentioned it, I think you may have gotten away with it.
