Bloody hell - I've been scanning the forum for days for a worthwhile debate.

Lemon Curd in toast - eugh! In a tart - yes!  On bread - ok but not on toast.

Blueberry jam is a no on or in anything.

Marmite - supreme on toast. Simply the best if we're not going to fanny about heating up anything.

For the adventurous few, spread bread with Darylea then lightly spread marmite on the Darylea.  Go on.  Trust me!

I like lemon curd in a tart as well  :woot:

I like any sort of tart. Oh you mean ones you can eat daggers lol.

Jesus wept... has someone sand blasted your taste buds???   :P

p.s. this is a proper thread now!  Interesting snapshot of those that post on a piss take thread and those that haven't.

Best combination has to be Walkers cheese and onion crisps and a mars bar, mmmmmmm nom nom..

If you are talking Philly, it has to be a bacon tomato and Philly sandwich..Lovely..

However strange it is, I do like the combination of Onion Rings (proper red hot fried things, not the cheap crisps from Tesco) and Vanilla Ice Cream...

Can't beat a bag of proper Pork Scratchings. Although I am partial to a spread of Duck and Orange pate' on sliced french stick.

Why has this thread not been locked or moved to the off-topic section?

Come on Al, admit to your preference... lemon curd, Philadelphia or Marmite!

(or maybe because the mods know we're taking the piss and have a sense of humour???)

Do you remember spreading lard on a piece of white bread? Didn't taste of anything really.

I think that's what I meant Jucy, my memories not very good, yes, definitely dripping and not lard,

but now you mention it salad cream sandwiches were also part and parcel of a young 'uns diet.

Gawd I used to hate dripping sarnies the only bit I could vaguely stomach was the brown stuff from the bottom but my Dad used to nick most of that, now sugar sarnies that was a different kettle of fish, and if dripping was off there was always tripe

I'm very proud to say I have never eaten dripping or lard sandwiches.  And I'm a Rosso lad too, so dont be thinking I had one of those posh Bessacarr upbringings,
