Today’s team
COYR
-
Bingham.cannot begin to think of what to say.
-
Ennis and Taylor on bench , i hope the games not gone before they come on.
-
Bingham and Thomas in the same team,Bingham and Thomas at our club you are correct there is no words,we may as well sign Jeremy Corbyn now he has more spare time.
-
Hope they surprise us but yes, I'm a bit concerned in Darren's unwavering faith in these two as they haven't offered the team nearly as much as he seems to think they have.
-
Old fashioned 442? Could catch Wimbledon off guard if so, get Sads and Copps up supporting the 2 big lads and we could have goals in this
-
Bingham out wide ? god help the defender in front of him
Hope Daniels can keep up from last week clean sheet an absolute must.
Glad to see Ennis and Taylor on the bench hopefully come on 2nd half with the AFC defenders tiring.
-
Bingham and Thomas in the same team,Bingham and Thomas at our club you are correct there is no words,we may as well sign Jeremy Corbyn now he has more spare time.
Hearing this Corbyn Guy use to be good wide left

Good shout Bingham and Thomas have someone to head the ball to rather than middle of nowhere
-
Come on guys, use your loaf. Taylor and Ennis are back from injury. It shouldn't be a surprise that they're not thrown straight back in. I'm sure they'll get on at some point.
-
Bingham and Thomas in the same team,Bingham and Thomas at our club you are correct there is no words,we may as well sign Jeremy Corbyn now he has more spare time.

COYR
he must have "scored" a few times in South America "probably a good ball player"
"At around the age of 19 he spent two years doing Voluntary Service Overseas in Jamaica as a youth worker and geography teacher.[26][27] He subsequently travelled through Latin America in 1969 and 1970, visiting Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. Whilst in Brazil he participated in a student demonstration in São Paulo against the Brazilian military government. He also attended a May Day march in Santiago, where the atmosphere around Salvador Allende's Popular Unity alliance which swept to power in the Chilean elections of 1970 made an impression on him: " noticed something very different from anything I had experienced."

Of course there are words!!!
“Come on you reds” for a start.!
Clearly DM doesn’t want to risk Taylor and Ennis with 90 minutes today so he goes with what he has got..
30 minutes to kick off, time to support the lads eh.?
-
Not sure that’s the problem though
Thomas and Bingham both starting is the problem
-
Bingham is supposed to be really fast - i haven't seen any comments on here since he signed about his speed so hopefully todays the the day. we know his finishing is Rhubarb (hence he takes some stick)
-
Cue the old knock down and volley into the onion bag!
We can dream can't we!?
-

You didn’t see the goal in the cup replay vs Wimbledon then.?
-
I sincerely apologise for having an opinion.i was lost for words at Bingham being up front after last weeks performance.could be wrong maybe he was very good.
-
Just a heads up for my Match Preview ahead of this one:
https://www.intotheemptynet.com/post/iten-match-preview-wimbledon-a (https://www.intotheemptynet.com/post/iten-match-preview-wimbledon-a)
Personally I've no qualms with Taylor and Ennis only being fit for the bench, that's fine, but I'm surprised May was dropped as he certainly didn't play any worse than Bingham last Saturday. Far from it in fact, and he came a lot closer to scoring than Bingham did at any stage.
-
I would agree that with a fully fit squad both Bingham and Thomas would be unlikely to start. But with the injuries that’s what we’ve got.. having opinions that those players aren’t the standard we should have, is all well and good, but this is the matchday thread - can we support the team as picked, and follow the game on here.?
Criticise all you want afterwards if necessary, but we all want them to do well, don’t we.?
-

thanks no i didn't actually :headbang: nice to know he's still got it
-
No worries CLH - the clip is probably still on the BBC’s fa cup web page.. a move starting with is playing out from the back, too..
-

As I stated though, what about May? It isn't as if we had to start both Bingham and Thomas last weekend, and Bingham, who did start, played pretty poorly by the view of most fans. I hope they both prove us wrong today and we win 2-0 with them both scoring, but it does feel a bit of a strange choice considering there are other options, albeit limited ones.
Nobody on this thread has gone over the top or moaned for the sake of it, just expressed their view that the line-up isn't what they'd like to see. As 3 o'clock rolls round I'm sure we'll all be right behind the team and willing everyone on to get the win.
-
I again apologise for upsetting you.i only mentioned my surprise at Bingham being picked did not realise it was wrong to say that.i don't like causing problems.shant bother in future.
-
Just to add I hope the lad scores a hat trick :bbscarf:
-
…"as we were mentioning earlier" I Follow. No you didn't! You didn't switch on till kick off you idiot!!!!!!
-
when was the last time rovers scored early ?
-
when was the last time rovers scored early ?
What do you define as early, CLH? 🙂
-
15 mins will do something to hang on to
-
when was the last time rovers scored early ?
Looks like Lincoln way back in August, Ennis scored after 13 minutes. Quite concerning that.
-
When you say “cannot begin what to say” that was what I though does warrant an answer.. it’s fair enough if you don’t think he should be playing, but at the moment, who else.?
Yes he had a crap game last weekend, but then again so did Sheaf.. I could understand more your concerns if Bingham was being select ton form over Ennis and Taylor if those two were fit..
As for the other question about May, perhaps DM perceives him as a different type of player and called this selection to suit this game.?
I wouldn’t have been surprised either way..
Sorry if I’m coming across as over critical of anyone’s opinion, I just think that this is more of a thread for showing support..
-
when was the last time rovers scored early ?
Our earliest goal this season was Niall Ennis against Lincoln back in August
Edit: Alias you best me to it.
-
Lively start from Rovers with Bingham and Thomas involved setting up chances for Sadlier, Whiteman and Bingham himself.
-

Make that 5 shots in the first 6 minutes!
-
Looks like we have come out of the blocks flying..
-

Decent left winger by all accounts 😀

Goallllll!!!!!!!!!

12' James' corner finds Kwame Thomas at the back post from the corner and he heads in to score. 0-1 #DRFC #WIMDON
COYR
-
From what I hear Rovers have gone back to pressuring the opposition early and pushing forward quicker, having lost our way a bit can this be a prelude to a good Xmas? Fingers crossed.
-
8 shots, 5 on target, 1 goal. Not too shabby!
-
Coleman, I think you deserve credit for the goal. You dared us to score a goal earlier than the 13th minute and we did!
Sounds like we are back to our terrier-like ways, pushing from the front. Got to keep it going and cement our advantage.
-
seems like I am flavour of the month :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: went downstairs for a sarni had BT channel on from the Liverpool game and after going backwards on the screen saw 0-1 :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
-
Great start.!! COYR.!!
-
If anyone's listening to commentary, feel free to share any action. Very limited what we can deduce from text.
DFP says we've allowed Don's back in the game and need to get hold of the ball again.
-
How we doing since we scored? On the back foot, or are we looking for a second?
-
Stuck in an airport so would love some news.
-
looking at the stats i was in fantasy land thinking of another slaughter like yesterday can but dream
shots 3-12
on target 0-6
corners 3-2
fouls 7-6
-
41' Sadlier picks up the first yellow card of the afternoon. 0-1 #DRFC #WIMDON
Simulation I’m told
COYR
-
42' Sheaf should score as he's two-on-one with Sadlier, Trott makes a comfortable save though. 0-1 #DRFC #WIMDON
COYR
-
Sheaf should have broke the net.
-
Fresh legs of Taylor, May or Ennis in the second half might make a difference for us. Hopefully we can keep our noses in front, seems our finishing is leaving a lot to be desired again.
-
12 shots 6 on target and we’ve only scored 1
-
Much improved , a good half of football by Rovers, but we should be out of sight by now, more good shots on goal needed.
-

Nothing new there then, eh?

Excellent first half for Rovers I thought.

can't be worse than Watfords against Liverpool you will be shocked at the chances they missed could have won as the commentator said
"could" as in "if"
-

Very encouraging. Keep playing like this and we'll be fine and we have some great options off the bench.
-
We could have banged in another but the chances have either been on the edge of the box or on Whiteman's left foot. Not as clear cut as they made out on commentary.
-
At the match, we are on it today. Very sharp - bossing things all over the park. Just a shame game hasn't been put to bed as they are bound to have a good spell at some point. Good away support despite one of the buses turning up late. Things are looking good!!
-
It's still staggering to see how high up the table we would go if we won the games in hand... imagine if we had had a half decent last few weeks...
-
Imagine if we have signed an half decent striker in the summer, but we couldn’t get one of them over the line.
-
-
Afternoon everyone, sorry I am late.
Had to go SHOPPING.
Anyway, good to see that we are playing well and in the lead.
Thomas proving a few people wrong apparently.
-
Hey, come on, let's be positive. Its been a very good first half and every reason to believe the team are back on it and will carry it into the second half!
-
For a minute I thought the ‘facepalm’ indicated that AFC had scored. Phew!
-
I wouldn’t do that Wilts.. :)
-
51' Callum Reilly shoots well wide from distance, first chance for the Dons in this second period. 0-1 #DRFC #WIMDON
53' Whiteman heads wide after a good ball in from Coppinger. 0-1 #DRFC #WIMDON

BBc says their No. 6 also called Thomas !! who looks like a defender the way BBC set the teams out has missed 3 times (shot wide) seems a bit weird
-
Terrible tackle from Daniels.
-
Does anyone know what formation we've been playing today? Meant to ask earlier. 4-2-3-1 still or 4-4-2?
-
Shit
-
A Christmas present.
-
Daniels giving away another penalty.
-
4th pen that Daniels has conceded, get rid of the fooker
COYR

1-1.
-
Daniels becoming a liability, needs to go.
-
Bring back butler, that was awful defending
-
Chuffing Daniels again. Ffs.
-
Just a blip!
-
We can’t get rid as have no other cover
-
Self destruct button again , needlessly played out from the back , gave possession away and Donkey Daniels does the rest.
-
Good shout bpool
-
Awful. Thank god Anderson is back next week, Daniels needs to go back to Luton to be honest. We won't miss him.
-
4th pen that Daniels has conceded, get rid of the fooker
COYR
I can only recall two others.

Get Joe wright on

Forss 10 goals in 13 games for Wombles , that's what were missing.
I would value the opinion of someone at the game today as to whether the chances we have created would have more likely been scored with a better striker on the pitch.?

Sky say that was Cameron John but I wasn't there so I might be wrong.
Daniels has given away three in the last few games and as a team we are giving away far too many. Anderson also conceded one at Oxford for handball and Sadlier conceded one against Bristol Rovers.

Arsegravy.!!

Wtf is going on

Clear penalty and then a clear foul on Halliday.
Terrible decisions.
-
Simply not good enough 1st half was ok but Wimbledon are terrible
-
Spineless and Sunday league defending
-
What a joke.
-
Handball yes but didn’t think foul
-
They just lumped it up from our corner, and Forss just knocked Halliday off the ball, not good enough.
-
Awful.

This is what you get with a team full of loans and players on 3 month contracts.
-
We have had 63% possession and 15 shots.
Striker needed?
-
We have 6 shots on target. 1 scored, they have 2 shots on target both scored.
-
This is what you get with a team full of loans and players on 3 month contracts.
Not sure what difference that makes, when there’s a penalty and a breakaway goal.??
-
This is exactly what happens when you don’t take your chances. At ht, we should have been gone into the distance and with some clinical finishers, we would have been.
-
We have 6 shots on target. 1 scored, they have 2 shots on target both scored.
that means we have had no shots on target 2nd half surely Ennis time ?
-
75' Taylor should score after James' ball in but can only guide the ball wide. 2-1 #DRFC #WIMDON
COYR
-
Again it stems from the awful transfer window
-
They are terrible and haven't had to do anything to be leading.
-
Alan, were the chances we created those which would have been taken by better players, or shots from midfielders etc.?
-
75' Taylor should score after James' ball in but can only guide the ball wide. 2-1 #DRFC #WIMDON
COYR
TBH Taylors finishing is awful.
-
Not having a striker is one thing, but the players we do have, talented midfield players and all, seem to really struggle to find the back of the net too. How often do we read that someone for Rovers "should score"? Our lack of clinical finishing is starting to really impact on our season.

It probably is as good as now.

Big last 15 minutes - 2 goals making it 2-3 ?

Still fancy a equaliser yet if we don’t concede again

Currently BBC has us having 16 shots, 6 on target we should be doing better than we are

If that was Bingham, many would absolutely slating him.
Far too many on can't wait to stick the boot in. Change the chuffing record!
Bye bye!

We should do what Rossington Main have done. 4-0 down at North Feriby and they've called it off for floodlight failure!
-
Poor from Coppinger, should have squared it, would have been a comfortable goal.
-

I'd like to think we have a tad more integrity than that, plus we're playing away from home

Well, maybe, if we had someone who could put the ball in the net.

Four minutes to find an equaliser.

Very disappointing. Radical improvement needed somehow.

1 win 9 .. so what’s next then? Ideas?

i point out of 6 against 2 Wimbledons " M K Dons beating oxford 1-0
-
66% possession, 19 shots, 1 goal. Wombles 7 shots 2 goals, needs sorting and fast or we are doomed.
-
For the first time this season we are, points wise, as close to the bottom three as we are to the top six.
Those games in hand are becoming less likely to get us promoted if results keep going the way they are doing.

and two soft games on (toilet) paper have gone for one point and the hardies are coming !!!

We haven’t helped ourselves once again by giving away yet another pen. For me Daniels shouldn’t play again, big Tom should be back for the next game and he should replace him, failing that Joe Wright. But ultimately anyone but Daniels
Onwards and upwards
