What on earth is going on at our club?

I'm not usually a moaner as I completely trust the board/staff and everyone involved with Doncaster Rovers, but I honestly think this summer has been a p**s take.

It sounds as if we can't even afford to renew our own players contracts let alone bring any in, and this whole investment talks is really taking over everyone's minds when the season is 3 days away. How skint actually are we? What was the plan if this consortium didn't approach Jon Ryan? It seems the plan was to accept defeat and hope for the best.

We have targets lined up, we had a plan before the consortium came and we arent skint.

Or thin but this summer has been a farce since we were looking for a manager , we had a small squad last season and players should of been brought in sooner regardless of a takeover , how many championship clubs have 2 strikers
1 keeper and a handful of defenders on their books ? And throwing kids

We certainly will not be fine for the first few games.

No Keeper, No defence, No one to score goals and a squad which is not big enough.

With 3 days and one training session before Blackpool it's just not going to happen. Anyone who thinks you can 'line up' targets and sign them like that without any problems just doesn't understand modern football.

There MUST have been an initial plan to replace released players, but the whole takeover business appears to have just sun screened everything, hence why we have a bare bones squad.

 I think we may do alright against B'pool, just because their squad isn't the best.

Presumably the reason why contracts haven't been renewed is down the rumours of a takeover and cash injection that have been circling for the last month.

If a players agent hear's rumours of a £20million plus investment in the squad he/she are going to drag their heals for as long as possible to get the best (biggest) possible deal.

It could have been wrapped up at a better time yes, but "piss-take" is a bit strong.

All at the club have signed a confidentiality agreement so that explains the lack of available information.

League 1 champions, financially stable, massive improvement in last 10 years, huge fan engagement programme - yeah the club's in a right mess.

The squad's not right yet, nobody can deny that, but please stop this over-reaction people.

I can't really see Husband, Bennett and Copps bloodying some noses can u??

We don't have a squad of players that could compete in League 1 at the minute never mind the Championship!! In fact we don't even have a squad of players!! Lets give old Nev a call he might be able to fit in goal for Saturday!!

As we all know, post counts are the be-all and end-all of whether your contributions are worth reading.

Its just thoroughly disappointing. Since we went up, I had been really looking forward to preseason, but it has just dragged along with next to no transfer activity, and an inability to tie down half of our out of contract players.
I understand that takeovers/buy outs take time, but what is this contingency plan if it all goes wrong? The window doesn't close until the end of August, but I think as a smaller side in this league we need to have a good start. Momentum is everything and from the outside right now we are the weakest and thinnest squad in the league. I can't help but feel disheartened about the lack of positive news. JR stated last season we had I restructure due to revenue loss as a consequence if our relegation. So seemingly there has been a significant boost, but nothing has been spent.

Duffy and Furman are bloody good signings though.  I just hope the coming ones are half as good and we'll be fine.  We got promoted on team spirit and the fans being behind them, it's vital us fans keep that and don't let the guys down who want to be here next year.  Anyone who doesn't well frankly f**k em.  And anyone who doesn't want to do that and get behind the team, don't come on Saturday please, whatever signings etc are irrelevant we get behind them on Saturday even if it's 11 18 year olds from Doncaster.  That's better than 11 30+ Africans right?
