happy with this. How can we afford Turnbull but have to wait for investment to sign Wellens?

Working within that budget, at present?  We've not (yet) ruled out further investment have we?  Transfer window closes at the end of August remember...

Could be a Rovers legend in the making. Am far happier with him than Shay Given. Good news  :scarf:

Nice dribble from the youngster, close ball control though a suspicion of handball

Bristol,
I respect your opinion, but why are you happier with Turnbull than Given?
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he will be ok, but he's played a total of 18 games in all competitions in 4 seasons. Given is in my opinion still a top, top goalkeeper, still an International and for some reason seems to have fallen down the pecking order at Villa.

I know we couldn't afford Given so its not really an issue, just wondered why you would sooner have Turnbull?

Because he wants to put a positive spin on it perhaps amongst this sea of negativity. ?

Id take Turnbull over Given easily. People are thinking of the old Shay Given hes past it now. We can't afford him. Turnbull is quality and only 28! We could well have him for a few years if we can stay up and persuade him to stay

Given was never coming to Doncaster. I would have preferred Kello than turnbull but its a damn sight better than only having maxted.

Kello hasn't been ruled out of returning yet though either! Maybe they'll be nos 1 and 2 with Maxted popped back in the development squad

It boils down to me thinking he wants it far more than Given would. I'd have preferred a two year contract.

Happy with this. Decent keeper, good signing, not too old, not on a silly contract that could ruin Alan Sugar, let alone us.
