Apologies if this isn't in the appropriate place, but my dad (Tony dixon) died just over a month ago from bowel cancer he was only 61. He knew a few of you on here.
To raise money for bowel cancer U.K. Me and a few of my mates are doing a walk from runswick bay which is north of Whitby to Bridlington, it's around 60 miles, (the east coast was my dads favourite place)
If any of you would be kind enough to sponsor us that would be wonderful
The link to donate is below
Cheers

Donation made , good luck on the walk.
Someone very close to me has just been diagnosed with bowel cancer.
He has been told that radiotherapy may clear the problem.
I hope so.
-
Thanks a lot mate,
I hope this person manages to beat it
-
My daughter and mother both died from bowel cancer.
I raised a few hundred afterwards.
Happy to contribute again.
Condolences to you and good luck for the walk. Great route you've picked.
-
Thanks tommy,
Sorry to hear about your mother and daughter

Just donated. My charity walk from York to Filey in freezing cold and foggy January was done for Kidney Research as my Rovers supporting Mum has Chronic Kidney Disease. Knowing where all the money goes will really help at those stages of the walk that are really hurting you.
Good luck!

Thankyou gill

My wifes recently fought inoperable bowel cancer which was succesfully downstaged by very aggressive simultaneous chemo and radio therapy. Shes clear of the cancer at the moment but has had some major complications, two major ops within the last two months and over 16 inches of bowel removed, 5 days on critical care afterwards, they cannot remove anymore if it goes tits up again. Permanently on intravenous feeding the list goes on and on
Just chucked my tenner in

Cheers mate,
My dad was told it was inoperable and then the treatment stared working, but he then got blood clots which meant he couldn't have the treatment. And the clots took too long to disappear
-
It's a bad one bowel cancer. Even if it's "cleared" it usually comes back within 10 years. It's a f**ker of a disease.
-
Are you doing the walk in one or two days dickos?
The longest single day walk I have done is 40 miles, the Lyke Wake Walk, from Osmotherly to Ravenscar.
It took 12 hours to complete.
-
We're doing it over about 2.5 days mate, around 10-12 hours per day
-
Thankyou to everyone who donated from this forum, we've reached our target with 5 weeks still to go 👍
