On the subject of Doncaster Produce...Which well known confectionery was invented/created in Doncaster by a Doncaster firm, in around 1835, is still well know today and was presented to the Queen in 1948, and Princess Anne, the Princess Royal in 2007....?
Assuming I'm correct, which I think I am,....... on the 7th May 1971 Doncaster's top group of the time (in my opinion) played their final gig at Doncaster Racecourse as the opening act for glam rockers The Sweet, Name the group.

This player holds an age-related record at another football club (local to Donny) and played on the opposing side to Alonzo Drake in one of his first-class cricket appearances.
Which 19th century Author was dismayed when he discovered that a Local Doncaster Landowner had acquired all of the Bones from the dead Soldiers and horses killed at the Napoleonic battles of Leipzig, Austerlitz, and Waterloo, had them shipped to Hull in sacks where they were ground to powder in a mill and then had them ploughed into the land as fertilizer.
Did you spot this?!Doncaster - "one of the largest agricultural markets..."Before the rise of the industrial north Donny was one of the most sought after residential areas in the whole of the north. Just look at the number of stately homes dotted around the outskirts of the town. It was a wealthy agricultural paradise and a lot of very rich people lived round and about. Then came coal and rail and steel and industry!Bob
