What a fall from grace we are undergoing, the more I think about it the more confusing it is as everything and not just one thing is going wrong at the same time. Personal form, collective form, we look like a team of strangers, confidence, joined up thinking, and worst of all perceived lack of effort, fight, and team spirit.
Next we come up against a side that I have never seen lack in any of those required parts needed to be a successful side, and have had the attitude in spades to be a team and club that every game they play they are the underdogs but can overcome it with team work and effort.
Fresh from a great away win at Portsmouth and after getting out of the relegation places under Hassebank who has set them alight once again they will come here Tuesday as the distinct favourites to win the game at the home of the current worst team in the division, in fact not a team at the moment sorry to say a disjointed bunch of players.
Which players is a good question?
What formation another good question?
Will we be able to deal with the long throw of Hamer? a simple tactic that has given us problems in the past when we have looked decent in defence, What now we look poor and no confidence?
Can Butler sort it ?
Will he be allowed the time to try and sort it?
Lots of questions about this game please have your say.
-
A team we never have any luck against, coupled with the way we are playing, and jimmy floyd has got them playing that’s with bags of confidence, I don’t give us a cat in hells change. But you never know
-
The only thing I will think about for Tuesday night is how much I am going lump on burton.
-
And at the best part of 2-1, (9/5) Burton seem to be a knocking bet.
-
3-0 win. Copps and Anderson x 2
-
Now that is a brave prediction to say the least lol
-
I can’t believe burton are not faves with the bookies. I thought they looked at form?
-
So what price are wee like
-
Rovers are 7/5 with sky bet
-
Rovers are 7/5 with sky bet
are they real, I don’t think they are

They're probably looking at the law of averages which say we are due a win :boxing: :scarf:
-
They are on a superb run of form. Last 15 league games are won 10, drawn 2, lost 3.
Their last 10 away league games though are arguably even better with won 7, drawn 2, lost 1. In fact the last away game they lost was back on Boxing Day. In that run they have beaten away from home Portsmouth and Charlton, and drawn with Blackpool and Accrington. They have also kept clean sheets in 6 of their last 10 away games.
If you look at form, we will be losing this against an excellent side away from home.
-
Yes let’s hope the penny drops with the players and we turn the table, but that sort of thing doesn’t usually happen to ye does it
-
The biggest problem is the attitude of some of the players sticks , their is no passion or desire in them , would rather play Horton, greaves and lose but at least they will try , the midfield needs a ball winner someone to put a tackle in , play 451 defend deep and counter attack with pace , as we are to open at the minute and teams just pick us off
-
That is why I feel for Butts he is more or less on his own in all this, and although he is one of our own and a legend he is still getting ripped apart on here and Facebook, and I’m sure it is the players feeling that they can take liberties with him being a mate or not, but it can’t help him getting it from all ends up
-
Rovers are 7/5 with sky bet
are they real, I don’t think they are
My skybet app must be lying then. Just checked and rovers still 7/5, 9/4 the draw and burton are still 9/5

On Bet 365 odds are 7/5 rovers, 23/10 the draw and 2/1 Burton.
-
That is more like it but at the moment I would put us at 10 to 1
-
Form stats for the last ten games are interesting....
Burton: W6, D2, L2
Rovers: W2, D2, L6
-
You have to look at the home and away form which looks even worse for rovers. Burton have won 4 and drawn 2 of their last 6 away games.
Rovers have won 2 drawn 2 and lost 2 of their last 6 home games.
-
We would need to win every game from now until the end of the season to have any chance of the play offs and that isn’t happening so from now I’d give ppl like Greaves, Horton and Jones as much game time as possible.
Jones
Halliday Wright Anderson Horton
Bostock Greaves Smith
Copps Fej Sims
Could maybe play Richards in Midfield or put Copps there and play Lokilo.
-
How Richards played second half I would give him a chance
-
I think this might be a tricky one for us :)
I mean, who would you play up front?
Fey, who has zero interest in playing with his back to goal and battling against 2 burly center backs
OR
Bogle, who has zero interest in playing with his back to goal and battling against 2 burly center backs...
it's a dilemma, it really is.
-
I don't envy AB in what faces him this week.
I think I'd try and park the bus and just see if they can get through a game without losing. Or at least without losing badly.

Fej as he's at least useful on the counter.

Can he work a till?

The only thing I will think about for Tuesday night is how much I am going lump on burton.
Now that the board have finally got the act together and began taking applications, IMO the players will put a start putting shift in as the see Butlers departure on the horizon and could start picking up points .
-
Can I ask ask a simple question. AB went from being a player to being stand in manager. If he does not hold on to the managers job, what happens to him?
-
Hello!,hello!,hellooooooooooooooooooooo.........
That’s the hole we are in, and I am not convinced we are anywhere near ready to even compete against any team that isn’t more wounded than us...
No team we play has to beat us ....we do that ourselves, so I’m gonna go for a very expected 1-3,
And has I’m a ticket holder in my final year of watching this team, I’m pretty much forced to watch it.....car crash pile up tv
This is only my opinion and you will probably disagree .....
-
According to latest fitness report, we have no James, Halliday or John for tomorrow. Get ready.
-
29/20 as of this minute - are they mad ?
9/5 Burton 11/5 draw
-
They're in unreal form and so are we, but for all the wrong reasons. Burton fans will be rubbing their hands at this one.
Form suggests an away win and I don't see our fortunes changing in the last 8 games. 0-1 to the visitors.
-
I’ve backed burton for the win. The odds are too good not to. If rovers get a win or draw, I’m happy either way.

Win-win that, NR!
-
Greaves and Horton in for injured full backs Coppinger and Fey with Bogle up front.
-
7.00 KO just a reminder
-
I'm opening a bottle of wine ready for the kick-off, to null the pain!
-
Can we keep a clean sheet today? A single clean sheet in the last 16 games.
Come on, let's park the bus. We can do this!
-
Well this is a lot better
-
Stats seem to indicate a better performance

Oh. No clean sheet.
-
I spoke too soon.
-
Both goals and also that double chance they had on 66 minutes, were all very weak. Defence opened straight up.
-
It getting predictable now !!
-
Oh dear. At least my away bet is looking good . Still can’t believe You could get Burton at 2-1
-
I don't think I'll be bothering on the Saturday. Don't think the players will be either.
-
Truly appalling defending yet again from a high ball into the box. How many of these have we conceded this season? Powder puff defending. Absolutely powder puff.
-
0-3. This is beyond a joke
-
Wow how bad are this team!!! Shocking
-
0-3. This is beyond a joke
True .. but it’s the we tell em !!
-
Good god.
-
Any manager in waiting must be looking at this and having a re think .
-
Looking very much like rovers will be the only home team in lge one to lose tonight. This is really beginning to hurt .
-
Spineless bunch who dont give a toss..No heart or fight..Even Kammy on sky said they have given up..
-
I’m done this season now.
Completely useless at both ends of the pitch.
Shambles
-
7 clean sheets in 39 league games this season. We concede in almost 85pc of league games. We are built on plastecine foundations. Any kind of simple shot or cross and we are all over the place. Been poor all season, dreadful now.
-
What a really sad way for Copps to come to the end of his career.
-
Well thank you rovers, for no other reason than making me a few quid tonight. And I saved a tenner by not watching again.
-
Good first half by us tonight but as soon as we went behind we were extremely poor again.
Serious lack of confidence.
-

I'd agree with that. Considerably better first 45 minutes, but to say confidence is fragile at the minute would be a colossal understatement.
-
It is utterly appalling! This lot wouldn't compete with a half-decent Conference side! What on earth could cause such a nightmare collapse? It can't be simply the stand-in manager, we were going downhill rapidly before Moore jumped ship and were lucky more than a few times before that.
-
0-3 FT. Thank goodness it’s over!! I would give Burton some credit. They have conceded possession all night - only 39%. ... but when they do get the ball, they break quickly, get men forward and create quality chances. They have changed Manager Mid Season when they were cut adrift at the bottom, but with more or less the same players, they have become a well organised team who play to their strengths and know how to win a game.
We desperately need a Manager who can have the same effect as apart from changing Manager Mid Season Rovers are exactly the opposite of what I have described above.
-
Fckin disgrace rovers, refund for season ticket coming up for me, was going to donate it back to the club, but can fckin do one, enough is enough.

So you’ve not watched the matches if you’re going to ask for a refund ?

I think this will happen with quite a few others now as well. If the club are going to allow the players to throw the towel in then they can’t really be surprised if the fans do the same. It’s a sad state of affairs currently.
I’d make a stand and play the U21/U18 players in the next game just to make a point to the “first team”. Every single one, and I do mean every single one, should be utterly ashamed to take home a salary this week.
-
As I’ve said before, any player who won’t be at the club next season, stay at home this sat. Get the under 18 s out. I’m sure they could do a better job.
-
We were playing well until they scored and then we collapsed. Everyone must be thinking that as the circus act at the back is so bad, that once a single goal goes in, more will always follow, so the game is then lost. Heads drop and it is all over.
As bad as those three goals all were, that double chance on 66 minutes was atrocious. Long ball straight down middle, Anderson and Wright a few miles apart from each other, Burton guy strolls through and hits the post, as he ambles to pick up the evening paper. No challenge within the same dialling code, let alone post code.
-

That's really heartbreaking, that is. You're right. You're absolutely right. Shameful.
-
The starkest truth!
https://thefishy.co.uk/formtable.php?table=3
-
One thing very obvious tonight burton had forwards we had fej and bogle who are contract players. They never won anything being constantly beaten.hope they are not our future for next year.
-

Just because the football has not been great , asking for your money back is childish , i follow has been worth the season ticket money even if the results have not been.
-

Black comedy perhaps but I enjoyed your description of this. I was amazed they didn't score there.
Goalkeeper, defence, midfield and attack. That's the headlines for what went wrong tonight on the field.
-
The way things are going, there will be no trouble social distancing in the keepmoat next season.
-
Who the club pick as manager, and how big an overhaul of the playing staff he makes, will be massive factors in the amount of season tickets sold for next season.
The club must get this right, or they could be damaged for years to come.
-
Waited till i have calmed down before posting.
After the way we played in the 1st half which was the best for a very long time
( only thing we didn’t do was score )
I am totally flabbergasted at the 2nd half. Once we conceded the 1st goal, heads went down and we simply stopped doing the basics. The defending was embarrassing.
We were a disjointed shambles 2nd half & only one team wanted to win.
What was said at half time to produce that shambles.
I don’t like to blame Butts because he has been a great servant to the club and has always given 100% to the cause. But it is plainly obvious that there are players who are not giving 100% for 90 mins. A football match lasts for 90+ mins not 45 mins.
I am like the rest of us trying to fathom out what has gone on behind the scenes to cause this capitulation.
Am I reading into it something that isn’t there? If so how has this happened?
I wish the season ended now because another 7 games and possibly 7 defeats is going to be totally sole destroying for everyone at the club and all our supporters.
It will take a massive re build this summer. We must have a new manager in place by early May. That is essential to give him as much time as possible to re vamp the squad.
-
I doubt very much that the capitulation was down to anything that was said at half time.
More likely is that the fragile confidence of a team on a losing streak was shattered when we went behind.
-
Our first half dominance was probably down to Burton not following their own script and getting caught out.....once they got the bollocking they came out and followed the said script.......and won by 3 goals!
My predictions over the last few months have been quite accurate I may add, and I look forward to this Saturdays capitulation ..... onwards and downwards
-
Think you have to give credit to Burton. They subbed at half time - think they changed formation ? may be wrong - and stopped us playing the way we had been in the first half. They pressured us more, forced errors, and attacked in greater numbers on the break. Once we conceded it was always going to be an uphill struggle as their confidence grew and ours diminished.
But we were the better team in the first half and it was pleasing to see the application, movement of old, if only for 45 minutes.
