If Lundstram & Syers aren't fit Saturday........
« on March 18, 2013, 10:23:33 am by Belle-Vue-Ghost »
Could Hume do a job in centre mid?

I'm trying to think of anything to stop James Harper entering a football pitch this weekend.

Hume is busy, hard working, energetic, will put his foot in.  Wondering if he may be able to do a job in there.  He could maybe do the donkey work for one game, and copps could be the attacking mid.

Or am I clutching at straws and this wouldnt work at all.

I don't think he's technically good enough.

Ok, this is extremely left-field, but how about Middleton? We keep hearing about how good the lad is, but as usual with our young players, we never give them a chance to prove themselves in the heat of battle.

He had a perfectly decent game at Crewe in the JPT, and if he was played alongside an old head (Wilson and/ or Griffin) I'm sure he'd be fine.

He played 45 minutes against Franchise at home and then had to go off injured. I'd say the jury is out.

Sure, he's an experienced player and can fit in in a number of roles (which is why DS signed him, after all) but he would be a bit of a last resort for me. Possibly could do the Keegan role in front of the back four, expecially if we play Brown as a lone striker with Coppinger or Hume "in the hole."

Whilst on the topic of the midfield I note Lee Fowler was a none playing sub at Haig Avenue over the weekend, he hasn't actually played a full 90 minutes for Forest Green. Dreadful signing he was.

Just read on twitter that Lundstram isn't fit for the England game Thursday.  He's hoping to be right for Saturday

He has a great game Sat.

Just wished he hadnt been the brave soldier and come off straight away.

I feel this cost us dear more than copps being subbed.

Funny, I didn't think he played that well at all. I'm not having a go because he's a young lad and will be inconsistent, but for me he was the one to make way for Furman.

I agree though that he should have come off more quickly after his injury. It could now keep him out for several games.
