Our best attendance for the first fixture home fixture in recent years was v Cardiff 11,800 ish (First season in Championship)

It has happened in the past (such as our first game in the Championship in 2008 when we played Derby and Forest played Reading). However if you remember we played Brighton away in 2011 after they had just won League 1.

It has happened in the past (such as our first game in the Championship in 2008 when we played Derby and Forest played Reading). However if you remember we played Brighton away in 2011 after they had just won League 1.

I think that was a different scenario though. I believe that Brighton made a special request to the Football League to play us, due to our association from a few years earlier. It's always seemed to me that promoted teams request their opening fixture where possible and the FL are usually sympathetic to most requests.
