Predicted starting XI vs Blackpool
« on August 01, 2013, 08:47:16 am by SoundbiteBarmyArmy »
Turnbull

Quinn   Khumalo   Jones(C)   Husband

Cotterill   Furman   Keegan   Forrester

                Coppinger

                           Brown

Not a bad team at all in my opinion, and lets be honest, Blackpool have had a similar summer to us really.

Also, it's only the start of August, there's another month yet to wrap up more deals (if we have any budget left!)

If you're going to post negative, don't post at all!

Isn't Forrester injured? I'd have Duffy wide & Forrester through the middle anyway.

Forrester is out injured for the next 4 weeks.  Switch him over with Duffy.

Still a decent side really.  We'll be alright  :scarf:

Oooppss, I forgot about Duffy  yes, in that case, swap Duffy for Forrester.

I would have Syers in over Keegan as well IMO. But still be a good team that would.

Syers won't be played in the two guys that are sitting. He'll be in the three.

Add another couple of loans and we'll be ok.  Then when injuries start to bite in late October, we'll have De Val back to health all being well to slot in and dictate the pace in midfield. I predicted 18th ages ago and I'm sticking to my guns.

Quinn Khumalo Jones New LB

           Furman  Keegan

  Cotterill   Coppinger   Duffy

                  Brown

I fear the first three need a little more match experiance, being thrown into a chapionship side may be a little too soon for then.

Harper should have been offloaded in order to sign Wellens and the other three are the only ones i'd sub on to create and impact.

We will have a decent team for Saturday, we can play a couple of the academy side against Rochdale and then we have a break where we will have more of an idea how strong that we will be for the rest of the season if there are boardroom changes, and additions to the squad, just be patient for now.

Not too bad, swap Forrester for Duffy (or Husband left midfield with new LB)?

Bench, is it 5 or 7..?? Paynter, Syers, Duffy/Husband/new LB, Wakefield, Maxted, McCullough, Bennett.

That's OK for day 1 isn't it????

Now there's a post I agree with!

How would paying harpers contract up, give us money to sign wellens?

                Turnbull

Quinn  Khumalo  Jones   Husband

                  Furman

  Cotterill   Syers  Coppinger   Duffy

                   Brown

I could possibly see PD playing Bennett in one of those CM berths to support Brown

Cut the losses in order for a superior player.

Roverssam, Dickos means that the cash going out to pay off Harper would take away from the money required for Wellens...

What's wrong with Forrester? How long is he out for?

I got that, but why are we still paying harper with the ammount of midfielders that are above him in the pecking order.

Looks competitive on paper, but how much better would it look with Wellens and Sharp in the reckoning too.
Don't expect much to happen now but as a previous poster stated after the opening fixture we have an enforced league break so time to bring more in and the squad to get settled down.

That's a too attacking line up IMO we need Keegan in there since Fernandez is injured because he's got the discipline to just sit in front of the defence the other midfield players haven't. So I would stick with that team with Keegan replacing Copps and having Keegan and Furman as the two midfielders. I think Syers energy will be vital to make runs ahead of Brown to support him as he is more capable of making the bursts from midfield.

Has PD played them as a 4-1-4-1 / 4-3-3 in pre-season at all?

Seen a few Tweets about Blackpools current squad. Only 12/13 fit players available kids on the bench. Obviously they have 1 or 2 real quality players but im thinking 3 points here.

And I'll wager there are many more clubs in the same situation as them and us, and will be until the transfer window closes!
