Title: Charlton away 26/08/17
Post by: Draytonian III on June 25, 2017, 06:44:23 pm
A bit of an obvious question, but when do the train tickets go on sale and do other discounts apply as well as the one that's been suggested on the Rovers website

Train tickets for Wimbledon away on the above date are already on sale. Charlton isn't til October.

We have opted to get our Wimbledon train tickets now before the discount structure is announced as the price of the tickets is likely to rise between now and then. Hopefully discounts will be in place ready for buying up Charlton train tickets early.

It was indeed, and I think that had we gone on to win that game the points would have been enough to keep us up.

Or if we'd not capitulated at home to Birmingham, or just picked up one point from the final 7 games. It's almost as if we've developed a bottling culture at the club...

that game was destined to end up 4-4 the way it had gone by half time!!

just checked my facts and
(a) keegan sent off after 44 minutes having score what I believe was his first goal after umpteen matches and as I suspected
(b) guess who was on the bench for Charlton Cedric ....   PERHAPS DICKOV WAS IMPRESSED BY HIS AQUATIC (WATER) SWEEPER SKILLS AT HALF TIME

Match facts
Charlton: Hamer, Solly, Cort, Morrison, Wiggins, Pritchard, Cousins, Gower, Harriott, Kermorgant, Church.
Subs Not Used: Evina, Dervite, Green, Sordell, Wilson, Pope, Pigott.
Booked: Gower.
Goal: Church 36.
Doncaster: Turnbull, Wabara, Jones, Khumalo, Husband, Cotterill, Wellens, Keegan, Coppinger Brown, Robinson.
Subs Not Used: Quinn, Furman, Syers, Duffy, Paynter, McCullough, Maxted
Sent Off: Keegan (44).
Booked: Keegan
Goals: Keegan 2, Brown 18,23(ball hit him in the face and bounced in the net)

The Charlton game was a travesty. Common sense should've prevailed. We were well on track for the 3 points.
Although we can't solely blame that one game for our relegation, most of the season was a travesty in truth.

If you are a regular user of the trains for away days then its worth getting a railcard.
With even a handful of awaydays you can save enough discount to pay for it for a year.

Common sense would have seen the game abandoned after the first stoppage, rather than try to get the game on again.. In that time we had Keegs sent off, the 'keeper made 2 or 3 outstanding saves, and Charlton scored to get well back in the game.. No way were we well on track for 3 points, even at 3-1 up!

Common sense would have seen the game either carry on or continue from where it left off behind closed doors.
Starting from scratch when we were 3-1 up is a bit of a injustice imo.

It's done now anyway and it makes no difference. We were poor most of the season and thats the reason we were relegated.
