Don't travel without a ticket, you won't get in, it is all ticket. :rtid:
-
I noticed that. No pay on the day. Might be worth pinning the topic in advance of the inevitable "can we pay on the day?" questions.
-
Just to also confirm there is no facility available for away fans to purchase match tickets on the day.
This is because of redevelopments taking place at Ashton Gate - as a result the away fans will also be housed in the Bristol City Family Stand for the game.
-
Well there was for Scunthorpe two days ago!! They could buy away tickets on the day from the Ticket Office.

The Bristol fan that posted on here said they have'nt a clue one day no away pay on the day next day they change their mind
-
The Scunthorpe article says fans can't pay on the gate but goes on to list prices if purchased from BCFC Ticket Office.
This is the latest information from the Bristol Police.
If we get an update we will pass it on as soon as received.
Thanks

Seems there's no pay on the day at the Keepmoat either.

Notts County aren't the first to tell their supporters this. I recall we had an arrangement where we sold tickets to away fans on the day at the Soccer Centre. If we're not doing this, and away fans really CAN'T pay on the day, then we are turning away business unnecessarily.
Perhaps the SLOs could look into this?
-
Is all this another of those "theres no pay on the day on the gate" BUT "you can pay on the day at the ticket office for a ticket" to get in through the gate.
This has happened recently on a couple of occasions recently (don't ask me to quote which cos I can't remember) a new police ploy to stop supportors travelling? the slo's did say it was the latest update from Bristol police and not the club.
-
We've also had it confirmed by the Bristol City Ticket Office that fans can't buy tickets on the day and that there is no facility at all to do so and have again re-iterated this is because of redevelopments at the stadium.
Thanks for pointing out the article on the Notts County website, we still do allow away fans to purchase tickets on the day from the Soccer Centre (providing tickets are available) so we will look into this and advise accordingly as far as we are concerned this policy hasn't changed.
Cheers.
-
Thanks. I hope you will speak to the club about it because it has the potential to cost us quite a lot of money. I don't think too many League One fans are used to the idea of having to buy in advance and if the message gets around that you can't pay on the day at Donny then many will decide to give us a miss.

Hi Martiin
You coming to Ashton Gate on Saturday?
regards John
-
No sorry mate, I've been travelling quite a bit just lately and need to catch up on work.
Is Jon Darch still doing the SLO thing at your place? I'm sure he volunteered for it a while ago. If he is I'm amazed he hasn't resolved the 'no pay on the day' issue. Shouldn't somebody be taking that up with the club?
-
Martin
Jon Darch is the guy trying to get the safe standing seats installed
Dave Lloyd is the SLO
This is D.L. posting on the Bristol City forum message board
THIS IS FROM DAVE LLOYD THE BRISTOL CITY LIASON OFFICER
Just to (hopefully) put this to bed once and for all.
We told S****horpe (twice) that there would no ticket sales on the day. The last time was a few days before the game. All other clubs have also been told this, and we make a phone call to each club when we release tickets to confirm it.
Some S****horpe fans may have ended up buying tickets in home stands without telling us, but we didn’t knowingly sell them tickets in home areas and we would never do this.
We apologise to any S****horpe fan who made a long journey and either didn’t get in or ended up in a home area, but any mistake on their website was entirely S****horpe’s responsibility and not ours.
The two clubs have been in touch and this has all been resolved.
-
Thanks John,
I still think it's a problem that could be resolved though.
The last time I spoke to JD at the Supporters Summit I thought he mentioned another role he had at the club in addition to the SS position, I must have that mixed up with the SLO thing. I don't think I know Dave LLoyd though.

Jon Darch is also involved in the Supporters Trust meetings
