Not DRFC related but the Borough is to be granted City status as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations - considering what we’ve got; a Mansion House, A Grade 1 Racecourse, an airport with one of the longest runways in Britain all we now need is the football club to step up.
-
Investment in the club will surely ensue :-@

Coincidence
Doncaster home of St Leger - a race won 45 years ago by Queens horse during her Silver Jubilee year
Dunfermline name of horse
Douglas Stanley was Head Lad that day
All now Cities

It’s all a bit of a nonsense but we’ll take it.
Does Copps get a special hat now?

When you read the council’s big news email it uses the words more likely in the benefits of being a city. More Likely, extra visitors, greater investment, backing of projects, attracting conferences and events, skilled jobs. So we wait and see if all these develop in the new city.
Let’s hope it will be more likely that DRFC will be promoted than relegated which will depend on the right investment, attracting fans back, making sure the new project with extra back room staff and a HOF works, attracting more backing for the club, having the right skill set to take the club forward either on or off the field. So More likely we all want.

This is nothing but good news
