Player going out on loan
« on November 23, 2023, 02:42:23 pm by donnyguy »
Loan exit at #DRFC could be imminent. GM tells The Free Press it's a first-team player, not a first or second-year pro. Story to follow shortly.

Strikes me Sotona desperately needs someone to believe in him in order for him to fill his doubtless potential.

I think Sotona wants to look inward at his own attitude and work harder for the team off the ball before anyone believes in him.

Sotona is quick of mind & has blistering pace. He had a couple of great moments when GM chose him to play where he ‘danced’ past 3 or 4 opposing players & got himself into a shooting position.
Unfortunately that’s where he fluffed his lines.

And that is what is missing from his game (a little like Jon Taylor), when that ‘goal opportunity’ presents itself you need total composure. If he worked on that (which you can only do in ‘real game time’) & added goals to his game…BANG…you have a real player on your hands.

Where's the evidence that deji has a bad attitude?

He was signed after a couple of trial games where he looked rapid and exciting going forward with an attacking threat,
Then due to injuries and a shift in formation, when he has been picked he has been expected to play a wingback role that is totally not his game and probably never has. Everywhere he probably has been they have told him to just pick the ball ip and run. And then we want him to bust his gut going forward then turning round and sprinting 70yds backwards aswell.

The only real mistake I seen him do was when he stopped running and allowed his opposite man to nip in a score.
He isn't the only player in this team to do that.

I'd say it's more likely for him to get game time than his attitude

Deji reminds me of Kevin Noteman with the way he walks and runs. Not as good at crossing as Kev though.

If he had an attitude problem I don’t think he’d have been in the squad. When he is he seems to integrate really well with the other lads

Got to be Sotona surely, been unlucky with the change of formation but he needs game time. Best move for us and him to go to the national league probs and play every week.

Doesn’t get anywhere near our side atm because of the formation as he can’t be trusted to defend. I saw that the first time I saw him at York in pre season. Frightening on the ball but without it his awareness of where his man is is awful.

Nobody really knows what his attitude is like whether good, bad or indifferent. What he looks like to me as an amateur observer is a lad with bags of pace and natural talent but little footballing nouse. He’s young and raw and doesn’t appear to know his arse from his elbow. Maybe the wild ride he has been on the last few years hasn’t helped him develop but what he needs now seemingly is a good stint playing football and becoming disciplined and focused in his game. Starting games would help as he usually comes on as a sub when everything has gone to shit and structure goes out of the window.

Yeah Sotona to Hartlepool or something.

He’s blessed with lots of skill he just doesn’t know what to do with it. That isn’t necessarily an attitude problem.

Being down the pecking order and little chance of getting much game time, it makes sense.

Is it confirmed Sotona then as I would have bet on Long. If it’s not Long I do expect he will go out too.

I don't think Long has regained full fitness yet. Unless I've missed summat.

Absolutely. It’s how to coach that skill.

Thought we might have the manager & coaching staff here to do that?

You can't coach quick thinking and decision making, that comes with experience.

Good move for both him and the clubs.

Should tear it up in that league, hopefully a run of games and a few goals will give him confidence. Needs game time as that’s the only way he’s gonna improve on the defensive side.

He needs to learn to be disciplined in attack as well.
All I ever saw him try to do was to receive the ball deep and wide to feet and try to score a George Best style wonder goal every time.
Should do very well at that level, big concerns if not.

National League North.

Same division as Scunny, Scarborough, Hereford, Chester and Darlo.

from what i can see he was subbed in the 76 th minute when Boston were 2-0 up AT HOME and it ended 2-2

looking at both teams last 5 matches it seemed Chorley would be fairly highly placed and Boston mid table

update

just seen the crowd which is 1289 not bad  for two leagues below  'Cringeton Stanley
