Ppg
« on December 22, 2023, 09:57:54 pm by normal rules »
Rovers now drop to 1.09ppg.
Nothing to come at meadow lane or Mansfield.
That will then be 0.92 ppg.
That’s 42- 50 points come season end, and for what it’s worth I think they will just manage that.
Three points separate rovers and tranmere who are third bottom.
Thank god for Sutton and FGR.
If either of those put a run in, rovers could be in deep trouble.
In the last two home games, this shower have somehow disintegrated into relegation fodder.

After 22 league games last season, we had 31 points.

Seven point gap on last season.

After 22 league games this season, we have 24 points.

Right. I'm buckled up and I've got my tin hat on before I say this.

If we lose to Notts C on Tuesday, our PPG record this season, after half a season, will be lower than the record we had under Schofield.

I'm struggling to believe this, but, yep. It's true.

This of course might not happen but at present we are 7 points behind where we were last season. Games 23 and 24 were wins last season. It is possible if we lose against Notts County and Mansfield that we would be 13 points behind last season. That’s a huge gap in performance and way beyond “we had a good start last season”.

It goes to show that changing manager has a very limited impact when the rest of the club, at least from a football perspective, is rotten.

I was thinking the same. No one is worried about relegation yet because the bottom 2 are adrift, but all it takes is for one of those 2 teams to string 3 or 4 positive results together and we could be in bother.

The 9 points up for grabs in the games against Sutton away, tranmere home and FGR home will be massive

Actually, make that 15 points adding away games to Salford and Colchester also.
All the teams currently below rovers.

Strap yourselves in people. This is going to get interesting.

31 games this season. 6 clean sheets.

2 of these have been against u21 sides in the EFL Cup.

5 of the 6 have been at home.

Only away clean sheet was Accrington.

There we are then. We now have a worse PPG record this season than we achieved in the whole of Schofield's reign.

My conclusion for what it’s worth . Mcann has lost confidence in Anderson. He is the captain. Dissent is spreading in the dressing room . Clear out needed. I have more faith in mcann than any of this current lot put together .

Now a 10 point gap on where we were last season after 23 games. Schofield also won game 24, so if we lose to Mansfield Town it will be a 13 point gap.

Now 1.04 ppg. That’s 48 points come season end . Maybe not safe anymore . Rovers cannot rely on Sutton and FGR staying crapper. Especially after today.

Back down to 1.07ppg.
Or the equivalent of 49 points come season end .ish.
Prior to the notts county game rovers were 1.09ppg and there has been a win and a draw since then . I can’t see anything other than a bottom of the table scrap this season .

A big YES to a clear out, all regular first teamers at the end of their contract this summer and those injured more often than not must go. (Even those who are suddenly realising they’re out of contract and start playing like they used to)
Can’t clear everyone out as we’ve signed a fair few on contracts. Problem being we’ve signed a fair few from Halifax, Gateshead, Boreham Wood, perhaps that was an experiment, and maybe on the whole we’ve got that quality of player baring an odd exception. Joe came Frome Cambridge, was that the highest placed club we signed someone from?

The players we signed from Halifax and Gateshead certainly aren’t the problem

We signed George Broadbent from Premier League Sheffield United, not Boreham Wood.

Understood. We need more Richard Wood's and less Owen Bailey's.

Mate, have a think before posting, you've had a mare.

Let's put it this way. I have typed "Lose" so many times on PvO in the last 3 years I have worn out the letters and had to replace my keyboard. And it is probably still the word I type the most on Viking Chat. I actually typed "Draw" for the last game and damn me we still lost. I wonder what excuses we will hear next Monday evening at MTO. How can anyone seriously enjoy where we are right now? We have an occasional win and some fans are ecstatic. Just look at the table and see what teams we have above us. It's shameful that they are better than us.

Be interesting to see how many teams Harrogate take 6pts off this season. I bet its not many.

Not many will be unbeaten in 2 games against Mansfield either though

Forest Green have to pick up points in the next two months as their run in is as bad as our start with playing all the good teams back to back.
