Complete Rovers record with Kettle in charge:
2003/04 Rovers 1-0 Macclesfield
2005/06 Rovers 2-0 Gillingham
2005/06 Tranmere 0-2 Rovers
2006/07 Gillingham 0-2 Rovers
2006/07 Rovers 3-2 Crewe
2007/08 Rovers 2-0 Hartlepool
2008/09 Rovers 2-1 Burnley
2009/10 Derby 0-2 Rovers
2012/13 Rovers 0-1 Crawley
2012/13 Crewe 1-1 Rovers
W8 / D1 / L1
Since the 03/04 season Mr Kettle has been in charge for 394 games, given out 1379 yellow cards and 88 red cards
That's 3.5 yellows / game on average and 1 red every 4.5 games.
He seems to be a bit frisky this season though; 14 yellows in 3 games already.

He did at least one game when we were in the Conference. Several cards in that one, I think.
We don't have a bad record with him in charge, but he is a very unpredictable referee.

To hot and cold for me.

It's all coming to the boil nicely :coat:

If the game threatens to boil over because too many players are letting off steam I'm sure he'll keep a lid on it. In fact, he'll be in his element.

Despite him having a fair game AND notwithstanding my increased tolerance of all Referees I had to give him NIL for today
There really is NO EXCUSE when a Player (of any team) kicks an opponent (at any time) during the game (anywhere on the pitch) and a Red Card is not produced
100 Refs could have been as close as this one was to the kick on Williams and 99 would have issued a Red Card. In normal circumstances Mr Kettle would have done so too and looking at his Red Card record I expected nothing less coming from his pocket especially at the speed he was producing it
One of his faults is he is often REALLY pedantic so I just cant explain this on his behalf ... but yet another win under his watchful gaze

Was that the one near the west stand lino close to the end of the game?
I couldn't remember if it was Williams or Stewart, as I was so angry at the time. Assuming it was Williams, he went in with the defender, sliding in together for a 50/50. Then the defender went back to Williams to remonstrate with him, and clearly kneed him ion the back. A few metres in front of the lino and in view of the ref.
As clear a red card as you'll see, shocking that both officials missed it.
Too many soft free kicks given, yet nowt for the continued wrestling of Williams.
I gave him a 1, as the professional foul in the first half was OK to be a yellow, as there was another defender covering.
-
I reckon he's been told to keep the red cards in his pocket by the FA due to his previous seasons, there is absolutely no excuse for if not one two red cards being shown today the first one I'll very vaguely give him the benefit of the doubt as it was up the other end but he was clear on goal the second absolutely red, no excuse for bottling it
-
What about the blatant foul in the first half by the last defender when the rovers player was clean through. A yellow card?
-
The one where he kicked Williams was just after he'd elbowed Williams in the face, two red card incidents in the space of one minute by the same player
-
still, are win:loss ratio with mr Kettle as ref continues to improve... :P

Yes that is the one. 100% red
Agree he is too pedantic especially where foul giving is concerned - totally the opposite to the one we had recently who allowed everything to go unpunished.
Williams DOES get fouled a lot but I think he would be given more free kicks etc if he did not make such a meal of everything - Paul Barnes 2 I think.

The booking of Ceddy in the 1st half summed him up for me, their player was pulling and pushing Ceddy as they raced for the ball yet he booked Ceddy for the foul, this ref continues to amaze me.
BTW agree about the red for the kick/knee on Williams happened right in front of us
