Title: V Sunderland
Post by: Guernsey Exile on December 27, 2021, 12:50:23 pm
Have we even given up now on here?

Anyway, a thread for today's game. 0-1 penalty

Seems a bit of a mismatch this. No contact for the penalty but I can see why it was given. No shots for us yet. I hope that changes soon

I think while it's 1 nil there is always a chance.

I know it's literally boys Vs men, but f**k me that second goal.

Like a training move against cones.

I'd take 0-2. Maybe even with a shot on goal. Another pasting will be hard to take.

I’m watching on TV

I know Sunderland have been very dominant but I am asking why is Dodoo on the pitch.
For me he’s none existent   Even when the ball is near him he’s not chasing or trying to challenge
I also think that for me it’s not been as bad as I thought.   Shame they got a second

Ben Blythe looks like he could become a good player

It is, but even the second goal, how is it not a free kick for the defender having Tommy's arms held behind his back? A second later they get the kick that leads to the goal. Big club ref, like we haven't enough problems

Agreed BST this isn't pretty at all. Don't wanna be too harsh on the youth team lads here though. Can't quite comprehend how we have so many injuries or how Bogle, Williams, Gardner aren't in the team though purely on experience. Surely we are too inexperienced...with the exception of Ravenhill May I add. Who according to the Official DRFC website was born 1st Jan 1901.

No contact for the penalty at all.  There was a leg out but no touch.  VAR would overturn that.

Can’t complain about the score, it’s men against boys, literally.

Dodoo and Hiwula are offering no hold up at whatsoever.  Rowe’s not in the game - I would play him deeper to get more on the ball but who goes further forward.?

One decent cross to the back post and no one attacks the ball.

Defending has been ok apart from going to sleep for the second goal.

Damage limitation second half.  May as well see what Bogle can do?

We aren’t winning any aerial balls.
We aren’t tackling.
We aren’t creating any chances.
We are being passed through over and over again.
I can’t say Rovers aren’t trying but this is painful to watch.
Very quiet in the Keepmoat as well it feels subdued.

Moment to reflect on how f**king dreadful our recruitment has been this past 18 months.

The side we put out today would struggle in the Conference. But there are SIX players on the bench that we have signed in the past 6-18 months, who are not good enough to get in this side.

Bogle masterclass coming up.

However with fewer injuries than we have to first choice players, those fringe players wouldnt get much time anyway..

Forget today, new manager and transfer window approaching..

Bogle on, Hasani off.. Rowe to play deeper?

When is the new manager announcement expected

Dodoo just gave up then when he could have got a cross in. He thought 'I'm not good enough to get that' and the defender nipped in. He should be flying into that.

Those two up top Dodoo and Hiwula are an utter disgrace. Two lazy sh*tes. And they don’t want any physical contact. Boils my piss watching them.

Who in earth signed dodoo and that other clown upfront off? They need to be getting the boot as well.

We are stuck with dodoo for 2years. Let that sink in for a minute

Bogle masterclass coming up.

Bogle has won more balls up front in 20 mins than Dodoo has all season.

Dodoo is a winger always has been.

Bogle is and always has been our best option up front.

Wellens to blame with his signings. Board to blame for not signing more players.

But we are very unlucky on injury front.

Branden Horton cannot defend. We need a LB in January

He's done well. I wasn't being sarky I was actually hopeful he would make a difference and he has. Probably not enough though.

How is dodoo joint top scorer.  Don’t you need to touch the ball to score

because of the farce of not signing 1 or 2 forwards in the transfer window, there was no
Choice to sign him

Smith was the best player. I also think for a young lad Blythe did ok

A much better second half than first, but that wouldn’t be difficult. Again when Bogle came on we looked a little, just a little, more threatening up front. Just another poor performance overall from a poor team.

Ben Blythe looks like he could become a good player

In my opinion if Blythe had gone to the Man just before the pen instead of retreating into the box their player would not have had a free run into the box
