Shirt Sponsorship - Wrexham
« on June 11, 2023, 02:52:03 pm by DonnyBazR0ver »
This is one he'll of a sponsorship deal but it's angered quite a few Wrexham fans who have vowed not to buy the shirt because of the obvious association.

There won’t be many clubs who can match that.

Talking of shirt sponsors, not just Rovers but in general, who are your most memorable for any of the following. Cool, Controversial or Crap over the years.

Starter for 10.
Cool - Rovers - Wright Investments as the 'W' stood for Winners and winners at Wembley

Controversial- Brighton -NOBO - On the team photo, our very own Dean Saunders posed with his todger hanging out of his shorts.

Crap - Rovers - Has to be East Riding Sacks.

Liked Pilkington Glass, hated St Georges car centre and east riding sacks.

Loved it when Leeds were sponsored by 32 red - apparently their fans hate all things red, can’t imagine why…

European Car Rental was my first one. Sounds like a global brand but probably wasn’t

Wright investments was cool and a special mention for streetwise sports.

Wasn’t a fan of Beazer Homes but East Riding Sacks has got to be the worst ever

The CIL sponsorship was the first I remember think it was Conveyors Industrial Ltd of Harworth.

United on front of the shirt for a club with the name Wrexham FC
No I am not surprised their fans are not happy.

The first time Rovers supporters were fans of the week on Soccer AM they refused to wear that season’s shirts because the sponsor was East Riding Sacks, they wore old ones with The Star on, I think Retford Rover organised that

I remember Brighton having "SKINT" on their shirts as well which was quite funny and I assume deliberately tongue-in-cheek at the time. Was a Fatboy Slim thing IIRC.

They obviously need better media advice, but any new Media Manager will certainly have to work hard to provide value. Perhaps the easiest solution would be to change their name to "Wrexham United".

If it meant sticking Millers Light on the front of our shirts but getting £5,000,0000 towards the club I'd be happy!

Unfortunately it taught quite a few extra people that our City's claim to fame the St Leger was in fact "the St Ledger". TBF I cant blame the shirt totally as lots of locals called it Ledger before the Shirt came along

The Wrexham owners have now bought 24% of Alpine F1 team, don’t follow F1 any more so don’t much about it, it’s on BBC newfeed
