We've only lost one game (albeit badly) I understand the frustration from everyone...but is it as bad as people are thinking?

Not one to jump on the sacking managers bandwagon. I think four games is too soon in any circumstance. However, the views of the paying public can't be ignored.Going into yesterday's game I was very much of the opinion that it was an opportunity to silence the doubters. All of this about no wins or goals from open play. I thought we could nick a win yesterday and then all of a sudden 6 points from 4 with no defeats and a solid defensive record would've stood up as a decent start. I had it all played out! To then come away with a 3 nil defeat, and even worse a (by all accounts) abject and gutless performance, is disastrous. It shows how quickly things can turn around. His position must be in doubt now which is a shame, I want(ed) him to succeed but I'm not sure where the signs of that are. We do have 'previous' at this stage of the season. Penney went after some 5 games despite being one of our most successful managers ever and putting the good name of the club well and truly back on the map. O'Driscoll was fired after 5 games despite being (arguably) the best manager we've ever had and establishing us in the Championship. What stuck in the throat about that 5 game sacking was that, despite the poor results at the start of the season, it was still clear what we were trying to do and the players were very evidently playing for him but just falling short against clubs with playing budgets that dwarfed ours. I'm not sure we can say that right now - that's one for people that have been to more games than me to answer. Dickov, unfortunately, doesn't seem to have the past record to fall back on that would make firing him now look like a knee jerk reaction of questionable judgement. He comes across as a likeable guy and I've no doubt he's trying his absolute best. I want it to be good enough but the signs are not good. I'm not into this criticism of the Board. They are financing OUR club. Season in, season out, they are paying out money to keep our club going at a decent level. We may not have the biggest budget but nor does it seem unworkable to me. It's not as if we're being asset stripped or horrendously mismanaged. Look a short while back in our history at what can go wrong, look at the likes of Blackpool, be careful what you wish for in that respect. I'm fully behind our owners but they do have some serious thinking to do regarding the management of the team. To suggest they don't care is utter nonsense, it's their money. I applaud them for not bowing to the culture of hiring and firing every few months, but maybe there does come a time when a change is needed for everyone's benefit...
And i for one hope he has the decency to walk rather than make the board pay out on sacking him.

They need to weigh up PR or pushing away the actual fanbase.
