He might want to play football.
If he isn't willing to reduce his wages significantly obviously we have no chance but if he is willing to you never know.

He has a quality record in the Championship too. Getting him for under £750k would be a steal.

We would be able to offer at a guess around 4-5k a week. There’s no way someone whatever they do would move jobs for around an 80% wage cut

The parent club may pay him off or pay a % of the wage. 4-5 k could be the difference in failing ffp.

Exactly. First, we have no idea how much we are going to pay players. Just guess work. Second, it is not unknown that to get players off books there is an arrangement to pay up contract etc, which might be attractive to the player to move on, get football and secure a contract without a transfer fee being paid (ie more money to him).
